I bought two of these stools since it is the best looking stool I found that would fit an extra tall counter. The description says that the stool can be adjusted up to 36in, but I didn't feel comfortable adjusting it any higher than 30in. The seat is very wobbly at a height of 32-34in and my feet were no where close to being able to reach the foot rest, so it was pretty uncomfortable. It was also difficult to get onto the stool at the taller heights with the foot rest being so low. The stool tipped over when I tried to get off of it, and that was when I decided I that I had to return them since that could easily lead to an injury or damage to my floor. I would not recommend getting these stools if you plan on using them for a tall counter.
