I purchased two of these. I use one for its intended purpose (suet), and the other I filled with wool for the birds to use as nesting material. They are a great buy for the price, sturdy, and have weathered the elements well. Would definitely recommend.

The birds love these!!  Easy to hang and easy for the birds to get to the suet. Watched a bird get a seed from the block and feed it to a baby. So much fun to watch the birds.

The least expensive seems to work best. I bought several suet baskets and this one gets the most action. We are new to feeding birds and don't know much. We get lots of woodpeckers from small to large. We have a double side plain basket and a double with a roof.  I think the birds like being able to grab a perch on all sides. This one is consumed the fastest.

More birds for less money

this is the 7th or 8th 1 I have purchased over the years. The only reason I purchase more is to hang more.

I have several I purchased many years ago and they are still in good shape. The FL sun does ruin the outer coating, if left in direct sunlight day after day. I hang in trees so it's shaded.

Highly recommended!!! You will get hours of enjoyment watching the wild life come to eat.  

To keep squirrels from opening, use a twist tie or zip tie.

I've hung it up, but just haven't had any birds come to it yet. I had a squirrel come up to it, but it couldn't get to it because of the cage. My brother says just to give it time. The birds will come.

Right now it's hung up under the overhang on our back porch. I'm gonna look for a shepherds hook and put it out in the yard. I'm sure that'll make all the difference in attracting birds to it.

The bird suet food  cage is easy to open. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to open the latches but they opened easily and I did not hurt my hands ,like  with some metal products. The suet cake fits perfectly  inside for the birds and this is a very great price. very satisfied. Thank you.

Great Item

Standard feeder but  have nowhere to hang it but the design allows me to fasten it to my patio wall.

I'm not sure but I remember getting this last year and the birds couldn't stay off of it. I had it in a tree that year. This year I have it on a pole so I can see the birds from my window. I have seen sparrows and catbirds attempt to eat off if it. They can only eat from the top of the side and they kind of fall off. I'm not sure what is different, but they are having a hard time to balance. For this reason, I can't recommend it.

Hard for Birds to Balance.

This is a great holder for your suet! Get the two pack, so you get more bang for your buck. I've seen the squirrels out there trying to open this basket and they just can't do it. I assure you they'll be competing with the birds to get to it. It's pretty fun to watch.

Great product

The over all look of the square cake? doesn't look very good to me. you can't see any seeds or anything. it does fit right into the square metal holder I got to put it in but I haven't seen not one bird try and eat from it. I was Soo looking forward to seeing the birds come, but so far I haven't seen any. it's just a yellow looking square. when I look at it, it doesn't look very appealing like if I was a bird I wouldn't want to eat it. I thought it would show seeds n stuff all mashed together with maybe peanut butter. but whatever it's made from doesn't even have a smell to it much less any eye appeal for a bird to be attracted to it. I won't be buying another one. I think I'll just buy a bag of bird seed and use my owe peanut butter and mash them up to fit into the square holder and if that doesn't attract any birds then they must hate my place or my yard, my trees or me. haha it's not funny really but that's better than crying cause it won't be the 1st time I've wasted my money on something that didn't work.
