I bought this to replace my old barbell that was starting to show its age from over time usage. Assembly was simple. Just twist the ends together and you're done, no screws, or hammering pins in the center of the barbell needed.. The threaded ends of this barbell make it easier to tighten and hold the weights in place, as long as you make sure they're tightened after racking up your weights in place plates. Weighs a bit heavier than my old barbell, which works for me, as I want to test my strength and lift more.  I can grip this bar Berger than my last, possibly because I haven't worn it out yet. Anytime I use this barbell during my daily workout routine, I leave my garage gym with blisters, and feeling like I got what I needed out of it. If you're someone who uses standards weight plates, or is thinking of building a home gym, I recommend this barbell to begin your journey.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited that I was able to search and find everything on the walmart.com webpage try people you'll be amazed. Don't have to go any place else.

It's well made and looks nice, the Collar's work well too. The main thing to think about here is not if it's a good bar or worth the money. The thing is, is this the bar you want. This bar is barely long enough to do a chest press with(btw I'm 6'1). Also if you buy a bench you most likely wont be able to use this bar with it. You would need a 6 foot one for that. Another thing is the weight limit is 200 on this bar which is not that much for a bench press if your a guy. I would recommend the 6 foot Cap bar for $32.90 here on Walmart.com.

Well made Bar

This would be a great bar if your bench's width can use it. I had to return it and bought the more expensive 6 foot with smooth ends. We are much happier that it's a heavier bar then our old one and heavier than this one and it fits on my modified bench without needing to make another hack job to lessen it's width. Either way, this is a good bar and do recommend it. I gave 4 bars for the length being way to short for my needs, but that in no way should reflect the quality and usefulness of the 5 foot bar. I will warn though, the smooth end bar should handle much more weight then a spin on bar. Food for thought peeps.

Great bar if your bench can use it...

Nice bar for the money. I'm 62, and won't be pushing heavier loads so this was the perfect bar for me as I age. Bar came with nice bright finish with no flaws and the packaging was in good condition and "not" beat up in the shipping process. Shipment was on time in under a week. All in all, a nice bar and a flawless ordering process!!! Thanks.

Nice Bar

For the price, you get a solid bar for basic workouts. This is really all you need. Keep it inside and it will last a long time. Perfect for curls, tricep extensions, overhead press, rows, squats, calf raises, forearm rolls, barre work, lungs, and floor chest press

All you need!

I have to return it because its not long enough for my son's bench. I got the 5Ft one. The only yhing thats quite irritating is the threaded end cap. its only going to be annoying to someone who constantly changes the weights like my son. If you dont change them often the it will be perfect. It is also safer than the squeeze locks because the threading is pretty long and we have 2 inch thick plates. We have a Marcy md 857 bench and it its too short.The weights block to scoops where the bar would sit to rack it....The weights on the barbell holder are in the way by about 2-4 inches. I would make sure you measure between the rack homder almong woth the weight locks and however thick your weights are. The locks are what are in the way. A 6ft would have probably worked but I ended up getting a 7ft just in case. We are new to the weight lifting thing so we didnt think about it before purchasing.

Great solid bar

Bought this for 14 year old son. It is perfect for him in our small home gym. It is a sturdy, one piece bar. The threaded collars make sure nothing falls off. I used Site to Store and picked up from local store. Very satisfied with the item.

Good beginner bar

I didn't want an Olympic set and I have nowhere to put one. This bar allows me to
do the exercises I want with weight I need without going to the gym.

Best for the money

Comes in one piece, easy to manage. Comes with two pieces that spin on each end to secure the weights - It takes a little bit of time to spin the clamps on but you can do it quicker if you just get each started and then push (or pull, depending on if you're taking them off or on) them hard to get them spinning quickly without manually turning each time. Supports the weights and gives them a tiny bit of wiggle room, you don't have to "spin" generic 1" weights on.

Decent grips, not too rough without gloves. Good buy all in all.

Wrong item was sent. Disappointed. Not as advertised or simply wrong item sent. If it was the correct item I'm sure I'd give it 4-5 stars. 
Now I'll have to return and reorder. Not ideal.
