I am very satisfied with this product. I prefer cast iron kettlebells, especially those made by Cap. They offer quality products at an affordable price. Cap products are not only functional, but very attractive. I have purchased several Cap fitness products from Walmart.com and am very happy with all of them. I would recommend this product.

various online sources recommend 30-35 lb for a kettlebell beginner man. i am a man who has kept in relatively good shape all my life so i went with 35 even though i am a bit older (49). perfect weight for all the exercises i have attempted so far. think is good design, good size and good feel to handle. there are products with plastic coated handle but i dont think you will need that. think you can spend a lot more for the same thing so do think this was a good deal. it might seem heavy the first few times you play with but for me i knew i had the right weight by the end of the first week. at some point will buy some additional (lighter and heavier) but this should work for general fitness.

good starting weight

Pound for pound, this is the best deal on kettlebells. I have bought the lighter weights as 3-pc sets, saving even more money per pound. I wish this heavier weight was a part of a set, but no. These kettlebells are heavy duty, shiny black. They have compact thick handles, but not so thick that my kids can't grab them. Not many kids use a 40 lb kettlebell, though! I have seen the 'designer' kettlebells with rubber coating and long skinny handles, but I find them too long and dificult for many exercises. I am trying to figure out a way to make these easier to identify when I have 6-7 lined up, might just use simple masking tape. I am surprised how often I grab a kettlebell instead of my dumb-bells, which I thought were the end-all. There are a variety of great exercises that are simply easier to handle heavier weights with a kettle instead of a dumbbell.

Great Deal, does the job well.

Ordered these kettle bells after my daughter went thru a Level I instructor certification course. and she loved it! Looked fascinating to me, so I wanted to try them. They are nice and smooth, seamless on the handle to help preserve the palms. They did arrive a day later than the order indicated they would, but in the end not a big deal. Our local store never had the size KB I wanted, nor two of the same weight, so I opted for the online order.

Very nice for the price!

This is the ONLY adjustable kettlebell set I've been able to find in our area. I originally bought one of these to try working out with, and liked it so much we bought a second one... one for me, and one for the wife, or one for each arm if we choose to do double arm workouts.

In our area there is lots of sports stores but NONE of them carried this or anything like it. They ALL carry kettlebells, but not the adjustable kind.... it's silly stupid to buy a non-adjustable set becuase as you work out you WILL progress and need to go up to a new weight.

The biggest problem with this is that the holes in the pole are not exactly lined up 100% so the first time we put on one of the weights it was a major pain to get it right... had to sort of work the pin in by rubbing down some of the rubber area to allow it to slide in all the way... but other than that it's been a great little workout tool.

This is the ONLY adjustable kettlebell set around.

10lb and 15 lb bells are not bad bells if you buy them individually, but don't recommend set as the 20 lb bell is horrible. For some dumb reason they made the handle extra large. I think they actually use a 15 lb bell and add the extra weight into the handle. This make the balance very awkward and extremely difficult to grip as it it so big around. None of the bells have a very wide handle making them difficult to use with two hand grip exercises. I recommend paying more and going with the Gold Gym weights as the handles are really nicely sized and extra wide for two hand gripping. The finish on the Cap bells is very nice if you like a really smooth finish. I personally find the smooth finish to grap the hand more and prefer the slightly rougher handle of the Gold Gym Bells which I use at the gym that I belong to. (Not a Gold Gym)

Don't buy the set

The product itself would have been fine except that it was heavily damaged when it was shipped to the store (I purchased online and had it shipped to the local store). My store refunded the full purchase and I bought a comparable item that was in stock.

Would have been fine but damaged

Extremely poor packaging. I had it shipped to the store. The box indicated they used FedEx to ship it to the store. I don't know who dropped it, but the hole on the side of the box should have been a clue it was damaged. Walmart was good in taking it back. The third order finally came in with just a few dings. I wasn't going to complain considering how bad the first two arrived. A thin layer of shredded paper is inadequate to ship such a heavy item. I haven't had kettlebells before, but CAP seemed better than most others out there. It is smooth, not covered in vinyl, and I read they are cast as one-piece, so it should be more durable than the ones the handle is inserted later into the ball of the kettlebell. I would suggest reviewing the kettlebell before you leave the store to save unnecessary trips back and forth.

Poor packaging.

I work out week days and am used to a full range of gear at the location I work out at. I was wanting some loose weights my wife and I could use at home. The price of these, as a set, is quite competitive. The problem is that they are not solid cast iron. They are cast iron with plastic inserts for the weight. One of mine came and the box had been roughly handled and the plastic disc was broken out from the kettlebell. I didn't notice it at the store, so felt I couldn't return it. Other than that, it's a solid design and should outlast me.
