This is great for short people! I'm 5 foot 1 inch tall and can easily hinge at my hips over this pad unlike some commercial gym hyper extension machines. The hip pad could be more comfortable but it's not terrible, it's okay to me because it's for exercise after all. Took me about one hour to put together, relatively straightforward instructions with pictures. I'd say it's pretty sturdy if you tighten everything completely. Mine doesn't rock side to side like another review mentioned. Came with everything except you need a screw driver

Outstanding product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I can't praise this hip extension enough! Other ones out there are WAY more expensive and not as solid as this one! CAP is such an underrated player in the fitness game. They've always come through with great equipment and dumbbells in my opinion. I have a messed up low back so hip/back extensions are something I do on the regular and this piece in my garage gym was an excellent addition! 
Pictures are for size reference next to an echo bike and overall solidness (disregard the chalk marks on pads).

Was a great addition to my home gym and at a great price. The equipment was solid and easy to assemble

Don't be fooled by Amazon imports. This machine needs to be STRONG, sturdy, and safe, as well as easy to adjust. Spend $40 more  and be assured that this won't fail you.  Also, for ergonomics sake, look to the angled machine vs horizontal.

It rocks back and forth in the flat floor. I cut up a hot yoga mat and set half in the rug. Its stable now. The pads are not comfortable. The foot platform rocks a little. I have the bolts as tight as they'll go. Otherwise it's sufficient.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy to assemble, does what it's made to do. It seems stable thus far, though I am worried about the durability of the upper padding/support. There is already some shifting of the padding but for the price it gets the job done.

Easy to assemble and gets the job done.

I really wanted to like this machine, but it just was not comfortable to use.  I could not get the adjustments correct for the hyperextension or oblique ab exercise, and because I could get the heights right, I felt like I was causing more harm than good.  I also do not feel that the cushion was supportive enough. I returned this.

Wanted to like this

A poor welding job on the base of the machine made it impossible to properly assemble.  A large piece of metal melted into the hole where the adjusting pin screws into the base.  As a result, the thigh bar would not slide into the base.  I don't have a metal file or chisel, but I spent about 20 minutes using a heavy-duty screwdriver and hammer trying to break off the piece of metal inside the base, but I couldn't get a good enough strike to break it off because it was too far inside the tube.  

The machine was almost completely assembled by the time I recognized the defect and would have been too much trouble to repack and return, so I just hammered the thigh bar into the base with a rubber mallet.  Now, there is no way to adjust the height of the bench because it is jammed in so tight, but at least it is usable at the current height.  

I cannot recommend this product based on my experience.

No recommended - Manufacturing Defect

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The quality of the material seems really solid. However , the unit I received has a malformation preventing the assembly from being able to complete. The welding job on one of the pieces was shotty and prevented one of the bars from inserting.
