I love how long this product lasts!!! I feel like ”finally” something that is worth buying 🤓👍 
So I had exactly the same experience as others with the sharpening , etc.   But bc I thought it was worth giving it another chance I googled to find out if I'm supposed to sharpen it.   Thank you covergirl for your response to the sharpening issues.   I'll see how it all works out now 😀. Small note: the turning end is misleading, maybe change that 🤓 My rating may go up as I use the product longer.

Eyeliner is great! Lasts longer than any other. But sharpening it is a nightmare. The first time I needed to sharpen it, using a recommended sharpener, I lost half the pencil.

I have bought this product before, thought it was defective because I could NOT get it to bring up more product with the twist piece on the bottom..... just purchased it again and the same thing has happened - I've learned my lesson, the twist base doesn't do anything....... no stars at all

Twist 'refresh' access base does NOT work

I went online to see what I was doing wrong that the eyeliner wouldn't work. Then I found lots of other people with the same problem. Covergirl, I am very disappointed in you. What happened to your quality, this was a rip off of my money. I'm now concerned about ever buying a Covergirl product again.

If I could give this product less than one star, I would.  I can't say one positive thing about it.  The 24 Hour claim is bogus.  My experience is that its staying power is way less than 8 hours.  The charcoal color that I purchased is black, not charcoal.  And if you think that because the back end of the pencil swivels it is a mechanical style, you would be so wrong. And don't get me started on how difficult it is to sharpen once you figure out how to do it.  I will stick with the Revlon color stay eyeliner pencil

Terrible Purchase

I don't understand how to sharpen this. After the first couple uses there is little left to use. I can't figure out how to get more I realize it's not mechanical but there is nothing left to sharpen. I liked the first couple uses I got but now it seems like a waste of money.

I thought I would try something new, did not plan on a pencil eyeliner and certainly not one with a plastic casing that makes it impossible to sharpen. Do not waste your money on this, you may as well buy the cheap ones because this one doesn't sharpen well at all and breaks constantly. Waste  of money!

As the others have said, once I tried to sharpen it the eyeliner became unusable! What a waste!
And here comes the product team to tell me to buy a new sharpener in 3,2,1...

Initially, I loved this product.  It's long lasting wear was better than the liquid liners I was using especially on my lower lids.  Then came time to sharpen it.  Impossible.  I used 4 different make up sharpeners - none worked.  It's now a dull, flat liner that scratches my skin if I try to use it.  DISAPPOINTING!

So I'm not the only one with sharpening issues

This is not a “pencil” that can be sharpened. The product casing is plastic. Yep, good luck trying to sharpen it! It doesn't have a twist or push mechanism to advance it either, so you will only be able to use the eyeliner a few times before the point is dull. I cannot believe that Cover Girl is allowing this product to be on the market. They must not have anyone testing, inspecting, or performing QA/QC on this product. Unbelievable!

WILL NOT BUY THIS AGAIN!

I literally cannot believe all  the negative reviews on here all bc people dont know how to sharpen a darn eyeliner pencil?!! Are they serious?? Invest in a GOOD sharpener (made frm german steel frm amazon, cheap) I bought the rich brown color bc black would prob be too harsh. It's the best eyeliner on the market. It glides on easily and does NOT budge, I love it!!
