Charging

Awesome new 4 AH batteries. They deliver plenty of power and runtime to any 18V tool I've used them with. The feel is very sturdy and the rubber overmold feels very durable. For a 4 AH battery, it's also very light and compact. The addition of the fuel gauge fixes the only issue I had with the previous gen batteries

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using the 18V Metabo HPT 4 Ah battery for several weeks, and it has quickly become one of my go-to power sources for cordless tools. Right out of the box, it feels solid and well-built — the housing doesn't flex and the contacts are secure, which gives confidence it will hold up on job sites.
Performance is excellent. The 4 Ah capacity delivers noticeably longer run times compared with smaller batteries, and it handles high-draw tools like impact drivers and saws without significant voltage sag. On heavier projects, I can usually get through a full afternoon of work without needing to swap batteries.
Charging is fast and predictable with the right Metabo HPT charger, and the battery stays cool even after repeated cycles. I've also appreciated the compatibility with a wide range of 18 V Metabo HPT tools — it's nice not having to carry multiple battery platforms.
Overall, this battery strikes a great balance of runtime, durability, and value. Whether you're doing woodworking, renovation, or general hobby work, the 18V Metabo HPT 4 Ah is a dependable choice that keeps tools running longer and saves time on the job.

Works well in cold Canadian weather

This is my go to battery for longer run time. Still compact and light weight.  Use it a lot on the metabo 18vt 6½" circular saw.

Heavy duty and powerful

I have a couple of these batteries, I find them to be my go to choice for my drills. They last a full day from a full charge and when you throw them on a speed charger they're ready in about 20 mins. I haven't timed this yet to confirm but it's rather quick!
