If you are dealing with a damaged shank or need a greater vertical adjustment on your current weight distribution hitch, the CURT 17122 Weight Distribution Shank is a compatible replacement part that is rated for 15,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 1,500 pounds tongue weight.

This weight distribution shank is designed to fit any 2-inch by 2-inch trailer hitch receiver and works well with most CURT class 3, class 4, or Xtra Duty class 5 hitches. Round edges on this shank make it easier to insert into the receiver tube and a 5/8-inch diameter hole accepts a hitch pin or hitch lock for secure mounting to the receiver.

Model 17122 is 12 inches high by 18 inches long overall. Each hole in the vertical shank has a 3/4-inch diameter, and they are spaced 1-1/4-inch apart for a wide range of incremental adjustment of the WD head. With an overall height of 12 inches, this WD shank provides a maximum rise of 9 inches. The entire shank can also be flipped in the receiver tube to provide a maximum drop of 11 inches.
