My stove went out so In the meantime I got this little portable stove to keep me cooking and it does good. It doesn't get as hot as a stove so if I want to boil something I have to put a lid on it so it doesn't take as long to boil. Overall it was definitely a good investment for myself.

Perfect double burner

I bought this to replace a cheaper hot plate, that took several minutes to heat up before I could even use it to cook with. And this past week, we went camping and took this double burner hot plate with us, and not only did it heat up quickly, like 1 to 2 minutes give or take, it exceeded my expectations all around. And I had no issues with it smoking like other reviewers said, and it also stated on the label that it would, I still followed the instructions to turn it on to max heat to burn off any residual. I am so glad that I bought this one because it also didn't take forever to cool off when I was done cooking. It's definitely worth the money to get yourself one of these.

Works great

The extra 500 watts makes a substantial difference when boiling a large pan of water or frying/sautéing food.  Expensive by comparison to other single burners but worth the value.

1,500 watts Burner vs 1,00 watts Burner

Love it. I've owned 2 different, cheaper versions of a hot plate and this one beats them both.
Only problem is the paint on the temperature dials is already coming off, wish it was more permanent.

It gives good heating but not as good as gas stove. For Indian cooking also  it is good enough but heat doesn't spread on indian Tawa so chapati doesn't cook well from edges. Otherwise recommend for basement usage.

This would've had 5 stars but it heats very very fast and shuts down very very slow. I realize that's how electric stoves work. But plan your foods around this unique quirky thing

Really pretty but…

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the extra on/off feature of the burners, it has a separate control to turn off the entire  unit in addition to the individual burner controls.

The main issue with this hot plate is that the entire plate gets as hot as the burner itself.  The entire unit gets as hot as the burner and you can get burned by coming in contact with it.   Also, the handles that are used to turn the hot plate on are unreadable.  It is an awful product.  I am going to return it.

Not Safe to Use

The second time using this hot plate, boiling a pot of water all 4 feet/legs melted off of this product. Fire hazard! Dangerous! My personal thought is that Walmart discontinued the sale of this hot plate, fire hazard and liability. Not recommended for human or any other use.
