Sooo the VOLUME - Def amps up the “oomph” factor, giving my hair that coveted full-bodied look without feeling super weighed down. 

[[ nozzle could be a bit more precise – I ended up with more product on my roots than intended (which is just as likely a “me” problem.) ]]

Back to the fluffy cloud-like texture - makes hair BIG while still keeping it extra soft!? Chef's kiss 💋

Second, it gives a great “messy” look to any hairstyle. It's actually great for claw lip use! My hair doesn't feel stiff or gross when product is in, which is a huge score for me! My hair does nothing naturally however with this dry volumizing spray it did provide more volume than I typically have which was a pleasant surprise. The fragrance is light yet very beautiful and was the first thing that anyone else noticed about me using the product. I like that it does not leave your hair feeling sticky and the texture is touchable soft and even manageable. Glad I got to try this product will definitely be a part of my normal routine.

It's pleasant enough, but you definitely have to like it to use the product. It smells like a sugar cookie, which was nice for refreshing my hair. I liked that this spray didn't leave behind any grittiness that is common with texture sprays. I have curly hair and it was enough to give my curls a bit of hold too. I could see myself using this on day 3 hair to refresh the scent and give my curls hold!

It leaves a heavy powdery substance in the hair but applies wet, so if you aren't careful it saturates the hair. I did notice nice volume when I use it. However, the lemon cookie scent kind of clashes with the other scents both in my hair and my perfume… so I get whiffs of it, from time to time, and it's weird…? I'm not in love with this as a texture spray, but I don't hate it either.

I also found it left a bad residue, making my just washed hair appear oily and dull. It just wasn't my jam. Maybe it could do well on another texture. For reference, I have fine strands but a lot of hair, and it leans toward the drier side.

I'm used to Dry Bar, which adds texture while still keeping your hair soft, so this one from Cake is a no for me. Oh, and I'm not a fan of my hair smelling like deep fried fair food.

It smells like cake and —call me crazy— but I don't want my head to smell like buttercream and rainbow sprinkles. It made my hair look like it hadn't been washed in a week—literally. It was greasy and sticky and heavy. All this AND an encyclopedia of ingredients that are likely to cause cancer. No thanks.
