I stumbled upon the California Olive Ranch brand through Consumer Reports as a smart buy and decided to give it a try since it was readily available at Walmart and priced significantly lower than other recommended brands. We've been very impressed with the quality. It works great for everyday cooking and really shines in salad dressings as well. The flavor is smooth and well balanced, and it has completely replaced our previous olive oil brand in our pantry. A great value without sacrificing quality.

Excellent Quality Olive Oil at a Smart Price

This is the first olive oil that I actually like the flavor of. I have added it to all kinds of different foods and it enhances their flavor. It, also, cooks like a dream. One of my speedy meals is to microwave some angel hair pasta, then just add this olive oil, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, oregano, ground fennel, and onion powder. The olive oil really brings out the flavor of the Barilla angel hair,  and it is a nice change from always having tomato marinara on my pasta.

In the past, I looked around for olive oil, extra-virgin or regular and they were rancid. I was watching American test kitchen and they were tasting the different olive oils and the one I bought is the one they suggested and I haven't been disappointed since.

Good on the California olive growers. I, for one, applaud them for making a bold Italian style, single-origin olive oil with a North American profile. It makes a great dressing and dip for salads. and light pasta dishes. This organic one is milder and more versatile for cooking seafood and sautéing vegetables.

First time purchase. I use olive oil on everything. Also, when frying food. This olive oil is not overwhelming in taste, which I like. Especially on salads or in sour dough french bread. I put argula, avocado, tomatoes and dill weed over toasted french bread with a drizzle of this oil for breakfast. This oil just makes the whole thing come together. Some olive oils are too heavy tasting which I don't like. The bottle I love. It has indentations in the glass, so it doesn't slip in you'r hands. Very smart. Also, the plastic top pours well. Just a little or a lot. This is my choice in the future. Also, made in California.

Best choice olive oil

I read an article that said you should not get olive oil in plastic bottles. The olive oil breaks down the plastic and it gets into your system. This comes in a dark glass bottle that protects it. California Ranch Olive Oil is also rated very good.

Glass and not plastic for olive oil

California Ranch has the best pure affordable olive oil period whether domestic or global.  When the crops and weather are right. hopefully the price comes down.  This has always been pure EVOO domestic or global.  I use for cooking or salad dressing

Excellent Mild Olive Oil

I did review and it suggested California Olive Ranch was a solid choice. Walmart's price was decent. It tastes great and cooks well. But the aluminum cap leaks and gets messy. Not a huge deal as i just wipe it.

California is supposedly real virgin olive oil

I mostly use this to mix for vinaigrettes on salads. The Taste is an overwhelming so all the other flavors shine through. it has a good feel on your tongue. I would buy it again plus it's organic anymore that's the most important thing it's clean

Flavor

I liked it better when California Olive Ranch was strictly from California olives not imported from overseas. I read a study stating that imported oils are shipped by boats and are already aged by the time it reaches the US. I researched to find EVOO from the US and bought it for years. Disappointed in this change. It doesn't taste the same.

No longer from California Olives

First of all COR olive oil is the BEST!!! However this order of olive oil was pressed over a year ago, while it is still complying with it being okay to use I was not happy that the pressed date was not added to the description on the web site when purchased so I trusted Jet to be on top of this. I will say that I was so impressed in how incredibly well packaged the oil was for shipment but will not trust Jet for food items.
