we fill it with water and some ice.  He also can fit his cellphone (I use to keep track of him when he's biking in our neighborhood) a wallet (so he can feel like a big kid) and some spare clothes.  The fit is perfect and its' not too heavy. quality materials!

I have now bought 2 of these for my very active nieces. They LOVE them!
They have been used for biking, kayaking, hiking, walking around Disneyland and more. Decent additional storage for snacks and other little things. Nice colors too. Makes keeping kids hydrated easier and more fun for them.

Love the Mini Mule!

I'm a petite older female and wanted a minimal hydration pack with a chest strap for my longer road rides that has space for nibbles / phone and jacket, this is perfect. Since it's a kids pack the color selection is pretty bright. One addition I did was purchased a magnetic clip adaptor from REI so I can have the mouth piece easily accessible on the chest strap and not dangling about.

great little pack!

My son is a type 1 diabetic who needs to carry around his medical supplies. It's hard to find a small backpack to fit his needs. This pack is perfect. We searched in stores all over and were so happy to find this one

Perfect for my ten year old son!

I bought my granddaughters the Mule 50 oz. The fit is great and this pack has a lot of great features. They loved the whistle. Not disappointed at all, so very happy with the purchase

Great camelback!

I try and keep my family active and I often run with a hydration pack. Because of this, all my kids wanted one. I bought one for my 7, 9, 11 and 12 year old kiddos this little pack fits them all.  It was a little floppy on my 7 year old, but he managed to use it for a 9.9 mile mountain race/hike three weeks ago. It chaffed a bit, I just pulled his shirt up by his neck and he was good to go. Kids fill them with ease, good color variation so I know whose is whose, we are so happy. There are a million cheap packs out there, imho it is better to go with a quality product from the get go.

Perfect

Love my camelbak but way too big for the grandkids so they all got their own for Christmas this year! Ages 3,6,8. These are perfect size for my minis, fun colors and the same great quality I expect from camelbak. Can't wait to adventure on with my little camels!

Mini mule for mini kids

Very easy and simple. My 5 year old loves his when we go hiking. He now finds any reason use it, when he plays on his bike or plays outside. It's easy to clean and easy to refill or empty. The large screw cap makes it easy to go and dry the inside with a paper towel. There are ample amount of pockets for snacks or sunblock. This is great hydration backpack for my little guy. I bought three and am very happy with all three.

Easy to use!

I take my 5 year old granddaughter hiking a lot and having to carry her water bottle in my Camelbak became awkward. I deliberated on spending the money on a hydration pack for her for a while and I'm so glad I bought it! What a game changer! She has a place for her extra shirt, snacks, and hand sanitizer! The color choices are awesome! Thanks!!

Best ever!

My 4 year old always wants to drink from my camelback, so he was beyond excited to get his own.  We have done about 5 more serious hikes (as opposed to little strolls) with it and definitely have some feedback.  First I would certainly purchase this again and recommend it for little ones who really want their own water on their back.  The size is perfect and it seems to be very comfortable.  He has just enough room to carry his own snacks, TP and a rain coat/layer.  I am relatively disappointed in two main things that I was really surprised Camelback has not perfected yet.  1. This is the big one for me- it is SO hard to get the bladder back in once full. There is not enough space in the opening. Maybe you are supposed to fill it while inside the bag, but seriously how often does the gasket not sit quite right and water pours everywhere in any camelback reservoir.  You have to be able to give the reservoir a squeeze and flip over the sink after you screw the top on to make sure you got it right.  So if you do this, it is a struggle to get it back in and it makes me a little crazy every time. Doesn't affect my kiddo, so we can work with that.  2. There is no clip for the end of the straw.  My Camelback pack has a sweet little magnet that always finds its way back so the straw isn't flying around.  This tubing is relatively long and so when a little person sits down on their butt to scoot over rocks and steep terrain, the mouthpiece drags on the ground and through the dirt over and over again on a decent hike. It gets pretty gross.  This is still not a deal breaker for us, but I hope the design gets improved in future versions.

Not perfected for small hikers-still recommended

We purchased this adorable pack in Zion. My daughter loved the design, safety whistle, three pockets and chest strap. However, with the first 4 mile hike, it leaked! Very frustrated parent and child. We re-sealed over and over and any time pressure was applied to the pack (bending down to play or investigate), the pack leaked at the top seal, leading to a wet pack, wet back, and upset child. Fortunately we went back to the shop and they switched bladders with us no questions asked. So far so good.
