I am not a very big person and the darn thing weighs 25 lbs. but in spite of that I really love it!  I was hoping it would show up for Thanksgiving and it did!  My husband and I roasted a 15 lb. turkey in it and it turned out spectacular!  I would recommend it to anyone who needs a roaster.

We got this as a house warming gift and it is amazing! I love to cook and hubby loves all things railroad so it's the perfect gift. I have used it twice now, indoors both times, although I am sure it would be great over a campfire too. I used it once in the oven, and once on the cook top. It is long and fits perfect over both burners. I made Chili that time. I really recommend this great quality heavy duty pot/roaster to anyone that likes to cook or likes anything railroad related!

This roaster let's me feed the whole family at one sitting. We have a large family and this is perfect for roasts, stews, chilli or whatever you can get in it!

Awesome

This, although heavy, is a great Cast Iron. I used the lid as a grill out of the box (washed) it it was an excellent non stick experience. The “train” side did not soot up. I can't wait to use it to roast chicken(s). I am so glad it got this roaster.

Better than I thought!

I bought this along with a Lodge Sportsman's charcoal grill the two work great together, they are the same size and parts interchange with each other, this Golden Spike Dutch oven roaster and my Camp Chef (Lewis and Clark) ultimate Dutch oven are my two favorite Dutch ovens, posting pictures of parts interchanging. The Oval has a lip around the lid to hold charcoal brickets.  Two round trivets fit perfect in the bottom. And Sportsman's grill fit perfect for multi layer cooking.

Great for family get togethers

This was a great addition to my Cast Iron cookware.  I cook with cast iron on my smoker almost exclusively, and this fills out the ensemble perfectly.  Great for poultry, stews or most any kind of roast.  Cooks evenly, even in the super cold weather.  Allows you to cook meats to a tender perfection quickly and save all the 
juices for great gray's  Add potatoes and root veggies for a great one pot meal.  Terrific quality, the lid fits tightly and sears, browns and roasts perfectly.

Just what I was looking for

Love this roaster, used the first time this weekend and was thrilled with it.  Its a lot bigger than i thought and cooked an entire meal in one pan

Best Cast Iron yet

Wish it was a little taller, but worked out with some foil around it. Finish is coming off after 1 use, but
 re-seasoned. Was able to cook a small 9 pound turkey over camp briquettes and turned out perfect. Whole turkey dinner while tent camping!
