Awesome grill!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I appreciate the design and function of my XT. Assembly was easy to understand with just legs, handles, wheels and chimney topper. Got a great smoke ring out of 7 hour all night brisket with smoke dialed in.  I'd buy it again.

All Around Good Choice

It has all the features that I'm sure you've already read, so I won't repeat them now.  I always ask my friends, when the buy something new:  What DON'T you like about it?  The display is kinda low.  I'm 6' 2" and have to bend over to read it, or step back about 3 pases.  It would probably be easeir for someone less tall.  That wouldn't matter so much if it had wifi, but it doesn't.  For what it is, it gets 5 stars from me.

Camp Chef The Best

We bought this grill about 4 weeks ago and have used it about 10 times already. This is our first pellet grill, I also purchased the searbox. This baby is super easy to use and makes excellent food. The steaks were amazing! So was chicken, beef kabobs, ribs and salmon. Easy to clean and very easy to use with a little practice and YouTube videos. I love that there isn't much waste unlike charcoal grills. And much more flavor than a gas grill.

Been a gas griller all my life - easy, fast, why change?  Picked up the XT 24 - total game changer.  Every grilled item is better.  Use it like an oven, smoke fish, grill hot dogs, slow cook a roast,  it does it all. EASY to use, simple to learn options on the controller, and very little mess.  I should have got one years ago.  I choose Camp Chef because I have been using Camp Chef camping related  products for years - very high quality and long lasting.  I expect the same from XT.  Great job!

So Easy!  Even a Gas Grill Guy Can Do It!

I have had this smoker for about two weeks now and I have cooked chicken, pork chops, steaks, smoked ribs for 6 hrs and a 16lb brisket that was smoked for around 15 hrs. Everything came out amazing nothing was dried out. Everything was cooked perfectly.

Amazing

This is my first smoker, and after doing a fair amount of research between Camp Chef models and another well-known brand, I leaned heavily toward the Camp Chef.  I liked the feature of easy ash removal and the controls seemed pretty straight forward.  This smoker has not disappointed.  I want to focus on the unboxing part for a moment, as I was very impressed with the design of the packaging and the box.  I have unboxed many large appliances, but this one was the best I've experienced.  After lifting the first stapled box flap, the box literally opened up and away in a very orderly manner to reveal the smoker and contents.  I was able to unbox and assemble this unit by myself.  There is no awkward lifting to remove it from the box, nor did I have to do a bunch of cutting.  The instructions suggest having someone help you roll the smoker on its top and hold it to install the legs.  I was able to use one of the styrofoam pieces to brace the unit on its top.  I had no trouble putting this thing together; the instructions were very clear.  I am also impressed with the build quality of the smoker.  Every bit as robust as others on the market.



Now to the smoking.  As I said, this is my first smoker, so I will be learning how to do this right for a while.  I found many recipes online and our first meal was a couple of boneless loin chops and a small steak.  I seared the chops in a pan, as suggested by the recipe, and set the smoker to 250 degrees.  I used the meat probe to check progress, and it worked like a charm.  We were kind of pushed for time, so after about 1.5 hours (recipe called for total of 2 hours to smoke), I pulled the probe out and  cranked the heat up to 350 degrees to finish the meat off.  Within 5 minutes, I checked the meat with our other instant read thermometer and found that it had reached the done temperature.  It was fantastic!  We got the smoky flavor in the meat and was able to get it done quick enough for dinner time.



I am thoroughly impressed with this smoker and will recommend it to others.

Excellent from Unboxing to Game Time

Got the grill 6m months ago use it a few times a week. There is great, good, so-so, and bad things. Over all I do really enjoy this grill/smoker. Most of it is great quality. But here's a couple things. I highly recommend buying the foldable front tray very helpful when using. The Ash cup is almost useless and that was a big selling feature for me. Not sure if it's a design flaw or manufacturing thing but the way they tell you to fix it is to hit it with a hammer. That's not OK with me. The grate and the barrel seem to be really good quality holding up well, but I take care of things. Recommend wiping your probes and your temperature thermometer inside with white vinegar after use. Recently, the paint began to chip on my hood, like I said it's only six months old that should not be the case. It lives under cover when not in use. But overall holds temperature really well and maintains it very well. Even cooking across the entire grill surface. Highly recommend the grill/smoker for anybody who enjoys to cook meat on a regular basis. I also hope the company decides to add a couple features in the future, such as the bottom storage tray and the collapsible front tray for the user. I will say upgrades, such as those are easily found by anybody which just a simple Google search.

if i had a Nickle for every time this thing clogs worst pellet grill ive ever owned do not buy unless everytime you are trying to smoke ribs you want to take the whole thing apart. motor is underpowered and ive used every kind of pellets under the sun still clogs. i dont know if i got a lemon or what. shouldve never sold my pitboss
