Excellent and vibrant print quality is provided.

Priced similarly to other brands and retailers.

Installation process is simple and hassle-free.

Can be vibrant, but may not last long or yield expected page count.

Since I am not going outside to shop, I was very happy that I was able to find out which ink cartridge I needed buy typing in my computer brand and finding the one I needed. I had not kept the last empty box. I am 81 years old and my kids were not home to open my printer so I would know which ink I needed. I know Walmart carried it as I always bought it there in the past.

Very Happy

walmart.com

Canon makes excellent products in all lines, i.e., cameras, printers, copy machines, etc, so I have nothing but respect for the quality of its products.

This printer is light, has a small footprint, does a good job of printing, copying, and scanning. However, the area where the ink is accessible and for cleaning is not big enough for a big man's hands. My hands are medium size, and I can pretty much get in there, but with a little difficulty.

The software that came with the printer is, um, well, it certainly could be improved. I think there are too many "cute" icons and options. Not enough "productive" options, like for doing some serious work. If my main interest was printing greeting cards, collages, albums, etc., it would suit me just fine. But for someone whose main interest is productive work, the options are much fewer.

Overall, though, it is a good printer, and (repeating myself) it is light, easy to move around, and does not take up a lot of desk space.

That is why I gave this four stars instead of five. I definitely would recommend this printer to a friend.

Pretty good printer, but—

Great ink option. I do think it's expensive, as most ink is. That's why only 4 stars. Easy to install in the printer. Lasts a decent amount of time.

Prices on Canon's inkjet cartridges have skyrocketed. But they do work just fine. I recently tried to reduce my costs with an Onn brand recycled cartridge and I wasted 60% of the purchase price of a new Canon cartridge because it didn't work out of the box. And yes, I tried all the tricks to get the Onn cartridge to work without success. So basically what I'm saying, if you print your stuck buying a Canon cartridge for the best result.

Because I Had To

The only reason I bought this is because I drilled the hole in the wrong spot on my original cartridge since I refill the ink myself. I'm going to be straight forward. Don't buy these, refill the ink yourself. The prices are outrageous and I just bought a 100ml bottle of black ink online for less than this cartridge cost me. It's not worth it!

Way Too Expensive

Its frustrating to have the replacement ink cartridge cost nearly as much as the printer. And mine seem to run out fairly quickly. Buying a new black and color cartridge together costs more than the price of buying a new printer. The only thing stopping me from buying a new printer every couple months is the negative environmental impact it would have

Price is too high

Does what it needs to but runs out very quickly and I print very irregularly, mostly just meal calendars for the month. Sometimes I get a little more out by taking it out and putting it back in but it's really sad how ink companies have modified the cartridges to hold less and less over the years. I suppose I have to recommend it since if you need it, you need it, right?

Gotta have it, but it doesn't last long.

I bought the printer that uses this cartridge at my local Wal Mart because I needed a cheap printer for occasional light printing purposes. While the printer is cheap, the cartridges are outrageously expensive and you get practically no ink. That is if you are lucky enough to find the cartridges in the first place. Wal Mart DOES NOT stock the cartridges in store, you have to order them online. DON'T BUY THE CANNON PRINTER THESE FIT. Before you purchase any printer, regardless of price, make sure the ink is stocked in store and reasonably priced.

DO NOT BUY THE PRINTER THAT TAKES THIS CARTRIDGE

I honestly do not know what has changed with these Cannon cartridges. Several of these that I ordered were dry and I asked for a refund. Yesterday, I put a new cartridge in to print and it was empty after 15 or so copies! I am just frustrated. My printer was expensive. I have had it checked. I really do not want to purchase a new printer. The ink is expensive and I have to order it because our local store never has it in stock.

This is the reason I will never buy a cannon printer unless it is a laser printer with a toner. These cartridges dont last no time and the money you spend on cartridges over and over exceeds the money you would spend on a laser printer with a toner. Why sell a cheap printer that you have to constantly buy ink for that dont even last a whole month.

Did not last no time
