I upgraded from my Canon Ivy to the Selphy and am so grateful I did! The quality of prints, flexibility in photo size, and cost per photo is a huge improvement. While I miss the smaller size of the Ivy, the Selphy is still compact and portable.

Wedding Photos

This is the best compact photo printer I bought recently. Not only does it prints great quality pictures, the cost per print is way more affordable compared to other printers in the same category.

Best photo printer at an affordable price

The printer itself is lovely, it prints nice and quick, and the resulting pictures look very nice. However, printing to it from a PC is an exercise in frustration - because the print drive doesn't actually seem to match the size of the 4x6 paper (or perhaps the paper isn't exactly 4x6?), you'll need to manually adjust the print margins to avoid either printing way over the edges and thus unintentionally cropping your shot, or leaving big, uneven white borders around the image. This was a pretty expensive trial and error process - it took me a good 20-25 prints to find a print configuration that I was mostly happy with - and that involved cheating and adding a black border to sorta hide the uneven margins. If the software side of this was as nice as the hardware, it'd be an easy 5-star.

Hardware great. Software... not.

High quality color prints. However, the iphone program interface is confusing. It is very hard to crop and edit the photos before printing. Borders are cut off frequently. Plus, there are two programs available to use from canon on the app store and they do not mesh well. If canon fixed the editing interface, this would be a five star product.

Clunky iphone interface for editing

I just bought this and am very disappointed in the color quality. Brand new out of the box and my first two prints are way too green, dark and off-contrasted. I even printed a picture of my fresh wildflower bouquet and the photos all look like they are practically in black and white. No issue with the inks as it is brand new and everything is full. Will most likely return. Not happy

Bad color

Canon used a generic driver that is no longer compatible with Windows 11. It only works on Mac and mobile. Cool printer and the kids love seeing every layer of color being added to their prints, but would not have bought if I had known I would not be able to connect it to a computer and print from lightroom/photoshop. Please create drivers Canon...

Is not compatible with Windows 11

This printer will not work with a PC.  Their advertising literature says it will. But it absolutely will not.I spent untold hours trying to get it to work. Finally one of their tech support people told me it will never work.

Not for use with a desktop computer.

I bought this back in 2023 and printed 10 photos without any issues. Fast forward to 2026, I wanted to print some postcards and I keep getting error of paper jam even though it sits on my desk untouched. This issue seem to have no clear fixing instruction on the web. I even change to a new paper and ink cartridge set and this issue still remains.
