The Automatic Vent Opener was designed to automatically control the temperature and humidity levels. It provides additional ventilation for all Palram - Canopia Greenhouses, making gardening easier.  As the air inside the greenhouse warms, the vent gradually opens to allow the correct amount of airflow into the greenhouse until the optimal temperature is reached.  The vent arm was designed with the use of wax that expands with heat and contracts when it cools.  The Automatic Vent Opener operates without the use of electricity.

We installed the automated vent arm on our new Snap and Grow greenhouse. We have built it in the shop so we are ready to go whenever Spring may hit. The arms were easy to install and I checked them by raising the shop temperature and lowering it a few times. They worked perfectly every time. We are very pleased to have chosen to go the automatic way vs. maunal. For the price they are well worth it!

Installation is straightforward once you know the trick. The item ships with the piston unconnected, which is logical. The instructions advise refrigerating it for 30 minutes and then pushing it in. However, using a board to push against makes the process much easier. It works perfectly.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The hothouse gets so hot in the summer %26 I would try to remember to open the vent but sometimes I would forget and the plants don't enjoy that type of heat.
Okay - hoping this works for the plants' sake!

Easy to Install

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It works well but doesn't close soon enough. It closes all the way at about 59 degrees an begins closing around 65..

Good enough for general purposes.

The automatic vents are very finely crafted but a little tricky to install. The instructions say all you need is a screw driver. What you need is a electric drill and long bit to get the four screws in place. Once installed, just a minor adjustment to get them closed completely. Good product.

Sure didn't like the way this thing attaches to the greenhouse, and it has been so hot here that we are still not sure if it works properly.  It is keeping it open but hopefully when it cools down, it will close.

Worked for about a week, then stopped.  Emailed for replacement or parts to repair and no reply.

Not worth the money.  Disappointing.
