As it says, Othello takes a short time to learn and a lifetime to master. My family plays this game every Christmas. I have another one like this one and we will have a family tournament this year.

Excellent game and I like the sectional board.

Great game at a great price.  Like that the squares have ridges so pieces stay where they are supposed to.

Great classic game at a great price

I have a love/hate with this purchase. Let's get the hate out of the way first. There's a sticker on the box stating the MRP for this item is $5.92; I paid $26.23. :/ The quality of the materials is an example of "they don't make things like they used to", definitely not worth $26. Now for the love. I have had a difficult life, but this simple board game has brought me a little peace in the past, before my daughter was born. She's 22 now, and we spend quality time trying to out strategize each other. She said, "Othello; the game you don't want to be losing in the first 2 minutes or you'll be losing the next 2 hours." The games don't take that long, but she is silly because the whole time she thinks she's going to lose, then she ends up winning. It's a great way to lighten the mood and spend time together. I could have bought a less expensive game, but Othello is nostalgic for me, and easy for my daughter to set up and play, even if she doesn't feel up to doing anything. I recommend the game, not the price.

Fun Worth Passing On

Previous Othello I had had a clear cover that would go over chips to hold them in their place...missing on this version.
