Arrived fairly quickly.  Pretty easy to put up. Working great to keep pup on deck safely.  The opening feature is easy to use. I read some thought was difficult.  Not once you understand how it works.

I bought this gate to use on my deck to keep the dogs on the deck at times. I mounted it to the face of the railing posts, so I had to drill the rivet that holds on the safety parts on the latch. You would not do this if this was for a child obviously. By mounting it to the face (front) of the posts, not in between, this allows the gate to open fully and rest flat against the deck railing. Lightweight but strong construction. I would recommend this gate.

Cardinal Gates Stairway Special Outdoor Gate

We bought this gate as we needed a gate at the top of our deck steps so our puppies couldn't get down the stairs. Installation was relatively easy, just take your time, read the directions and be sure to measure. The latch does require some special handling as the gate needs to be lifted up when opening and closing. We are using it for dogs so we didn't have to worry about the dogs undoing the latch, but this is a great feature if you are using this for a baby or toddler. The gate is very light, but a small child would no be able to lift it and unlatch it.

Nice gate for a deck

I'm using this as a pet gate at the top of the stairs on my deck. The black finish looks quite nice with my black aluminum deck railing. I did not want to drill into my posts and did not care for the appearance of the Cardinal balluster mounting kits so I purchased some aluminum flat bar and stainless steel hardware and fabricated my own mounting kit. I'm very happy with the functionality and appearance of the gate.

Looks nice and easy to install

This gate is perfect on my deck outside at the top of my steps. It swings both ways and no runner at the bottom to have to step over and be tripped.

Excellent gate

We purchased this for our patio to keep the dog in and other critters out. It assembled very easily and is a high quality product!

Great Gate for Patio

The gate appears to be made very well.  It is excellent looking and matches the black bars on my deck railings. My only disappointment is that it is extremely difficult to open even with two hands!! It is not easy open as it implies.  Other than that the purchase was fine.

Cardinal Gate

Great quality for outdoor use (s.s. hardware, aluminum frame, durable paint). The only drawback is that the latch requires a bit of fumbling to undo...a bit difficult with one hand. Other than that the gate is great and does not look like a "baby" gate. I'm using mine with the large extension.

Excellent Quality

The product is well constructed, however not easy to put together, you almost have to assemble it before you mount it to figure it out. Also I didnt realize but there are 2 sets of parts, 1 for inside and stainless for outside, not sure why they just didn't send the stainless, which works inside or out. Also releasing the gate is not a snap. after saying all that the product is well built and works perfect for my use on my deck.

I bought this gate for both our dogs and our granddaughter. It was a little hard to put together at first. It does have two different sizes of extensions that you can get for this. If I knew this when I ordered it I think it would have been easier to put together.

GREAT GATE FOR PETS AND BABIES.

Again, parts were missing, so am sending back and reorder ‘till they get it right! Also, the gate came with no instructions.
