Before purchasing, I read some of the reviews and if I had not already used this brand and type of yarn, I would not have gotten it. How sad for those who bypassed it. A third grandchild is marrying in November. I sent her an assortment of samples so the afghan and pillow I made the others would also be made for her. She chose Caron Simply Soft in Grey Heather ... an awesome color. She chose it to go well with her decor. I knew the pattern would be awesome (I've been using it for 40 years) but I'd always made it in white before. This is stunning.
I guess I must say, the problems other reviewers encountered with the yarn do exist. You need to get used to handling the strands (hey, I'm 81 and I adapted) and I am prepared for the occasional knots and check ahead so I can avoid them. If I miss one, I just tear out to the edge and start over after cutting out the knot. Actually, this batch has been free of them. I'm having fun doing it!

Caron simply soft yarn

Beautiful yarn. It has a sheen to it and is quite soft.  This yarn says it is 3.5 oz.......but when I received it ...it was 5 oz

Nice and soft. Good for baby things. I made hats for kids. Soft and warm. I did have a knot in the skein but not hard to work around in my project.

This yarn is so soft and wonderful for anything you are knitting or crocheting. It is machine washable and dryable..I use it often!

Works up beautifully. My favorite thing about it is the softness. No my favorite thing is the uniformity no fraying and no parts of the yarn thicker than the rest. No my favorite thing is the variety of colors.  No my favorite thing is the price. Ok you get the picture.

I've knitted over 200 baby sweaters with Caron Simply Soft and it's the softest, bestest 🙃 ever for baby clothes. Have used probably 15 of the great selection of colors and the new moms love them all! The grey heather is particularly liked because both boy & girl babies look great in it. Have encountered very few factory tied knots in the skeins considering how many I've used. Overall, a great yarn!

This lovely gray yarn arrived in a flash and is already become a crocheted ostrich.  Easy to work with.  Will buy this yarn again.

I was very disappointed to receive. The description and picture does not do it justice.  It shows as "medium weight" and looks like a medium weight skein. However, it is very thin.  I couldn't use it for the intended purpose.  I can't speak to the quality, since I didn't use it.  The color is nice though.  It is true to the picture.
