I used this brand in the past to train my cat, mind you it did take patience. I recommend when using this, to use flushable kitty litter (like corn based litter, non clumping). They do make a mess at first, but remember you will ultimately remove the litter and it will get to a point where they won't need it at all. I have a new kitten and can't wait until he's old enough to start training on it again as I hate the smell of litter. I do recommend starting younger (6  months as it's easier) but mine learned at 6 years so it's possible.

Worth the wait

This product hasn’t worked out well for us. We have two young cats, and while they are using the first stage of the toilet seat training, they’re making a mess on the floor and around the rim of the seat. I’m concerned they’ll develop bad habits, so I’m considering discontinuing the training and going back to using the litter box.
