best partner for trainning

At 66 years old, my husband wanted to polish up on his martial arts and boxing training to preserve muscle mass. We thought he'd ease back into it. Not so, he started with 3 straight hours the 1st day and couldn't wait to get up the next morning to start again. We are both very pleased with this purchase! When he saw the porch filled with 2 boxes, he was thinking, "Now what has she bought." After reading to box, he couldn't wait to get Bob XL out to set him up. He spent the next 2-3 hours reading the pros and cons using sand vs. water to fill Bob's base. He decided on water. Bob can slide on a rubber mat onto the area rug into the garden room and return back to his corner easily. What a great husband sitter!!!!!

I'm taking a martial arts class and we have to visualize an enemy attacking us in our imagination. Then we make blocks, punches, and kicks to this fictacious character in our head. What a nitemare! Century Bob XL provides A solid structure that both looks and feels like the real thing. My girlfriend makes me cover it because it's s so mean and tough looking. Put some weight in the base and its a great replica for the knee and lower leg!

I have the Big Bob and Big Bob XL. Of the two, I prefer this particular one because you have an entire torso to target for martial arts training.

The XL has a flexible body with a consistency similar to a real person. To be more realistic is a critical part of being more accurate with the type of attack and what part of the anatomy that you are attacking.

Strikes to the bridge of the nose, the temples, the jaw, the throat, and the neck are dangerous to practice on a live person. With this, you have that capability. The only limitation is that you cannot strike this directly onto the back because of how this is constructed.

As for construction, the base is identical in build as Wavemaster training bags. It can be filled with water or sand. I prefer water as this makes it easier to transport, and empty. Sand is a bit cumbersome and can cost more than water filled through a hose.

The torso is a firm rubber material. It will withstand strikes from barehanded attacks, gloved attacks, and light trauma from blunt weapons, such as the escrima, Tonfa, and nunchucks. However, I find it will last longer if you use Action Flex variations that have nylon covers and foam, instead.

Punching this is stable. It may rock or shift when hit hard. It will not fall over. An accidental strike to the base by your foot will land you in an Emergency room so be careful. One advantage is the ability to adjust Bob's height in several increments making him able to face you eye to eye.

I also take off the torso and practice, Ground-and-pound drills, as well as headlocks and other ground strikes.

Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase and it is a great training tool.

Focused target for sparring

Purchased for my son to practice martial arts in the basement. Easy set up, heavy duty quality item. Expensive but worth it.

Bob is the best! Outstanding service.. great Service. The product is just how described.

This punching bag provides a great workout at a great price. Other websites offer Bob XL at a much higher price. Everything is solid and very sturdy. My only complaint is they should provide some type of hose or funnel to more easily fill the base with water. Other than that I recommend this product.

Great workout!

BOB is awesome. Our whole family can use it for Taekwondo practice by adjusting his height. The reason I didn't give it a 5 is because the fill hole for the base is too small and it has taken us days to get less than a full 70 pound bag of sand in. For now we just hold it. Overall, a great product.
