My reservations were due to the open tread and noise but those concerns were unfounded. They are not boulevard cruisers, but not particularly load, even at highway speeds.

Had a panic braking situation on the road and they were easy to keep at impending lock up.

Off road they have performed exceptionally well in the mud. I haven't pushed them but they have a lot of bite, so I haven't needed 4WD.  Sure they throw mud for 1/2 a mile after getting back on the pavement, but they are off road tires.

Originally I bought them for price but am exceptionally pleased with their performance both on  and off road.
