For a $400 set of speakers, I have no complaints at all, I've owned CV's before (CVS 115'). These are rock and roll speakers that will not offer you sound from a $1,000 pair of speakers, but they more than satisfy my needs. Good highs, mids, and and contrary to what some say, they have fantastic base for a two way 8" woofer/tweeter combo. I am using Monster cables with gold plated banana plugs. A Sony with 95W per channel. I will not need a sub.I'm breaking them in, and have no doubt they will sound even better afterwards, and will play very loud with no distortion, I'm very satisfied for the quality and price. They look great, too.
