These are my first pair of Chacos, and now I think I'll always have a pair. I bought an expensive pair of barefoot sandals two summers ago and loved them except that they broke this summer after only less than a year of continuous light use (sandal weather is about 5 months out of the year where I live). I picked this pair because they're repairable as well as being cheaper than the other pair I'd had. Having actually worn them for a few weeks, I can honestly say these seem to be very well constructed, and I'd be surprised if I'm needing repairs in two summer's time, although it's nice to know I don't have to throw  out the whole shoe if I do. The sole is thick, and I feel l can walk over any terrain in them. I prefer to hike in close-toed shoes, but I do live in an area with lots of opportunities for casual hiking and would feel comfortable wearing these on the trail on an impromptu hike. I do love how adjustable the straps are, and these don't cause any foot pain like what had led me to barefoot shoes in the first place.

Five star sandals!

Comfortable fun sandals that fit perfectly. This is probably my 10th pair of Chaco shoes over the years. The only shoes I can wear without an insert for Plantar Fasciitis. I've never worn a pair out. 5 stars for sure.

Love these sandals.

I love the arch support of these shoes. I have plantar fasciitis and these sandals are the solution. Anytime I have issues I wear these and I feel so much better. I definitely recommend them to anyone with problem feet.

Best Arch Support

I've worn Chacos for over 30 years and they've taken me through the jungles and waterfalls of  Costa Rica, canyons in Colorado, beaches all over the world, trails in the desert, and gardening in my backyard. They never disappoint!

Love Them!

My high arches have been perfectly supported for years-worth of hiking. This is my shoe for the majority of the year. I buy the solid colors. Could you consider providing more solid color options, please? Not everyone wears multicolored shoes. Solid medium brown color, maybe? I have not found a better hiking/walking sandal. Dries quickly, fantastic gripping over boulders, loose soil, etc. Feet never sore. Wonderful!

Perfect!

I recently switched to Chaco from Teva. Although I find that both have their place, my Z/1 were better for beach use and walking around after. They dried quickly and were more comfortable even when wet. They were easy to shake off the sand from. The only thing preventing the final star is there is little muscle memory to the straps, so I am readjusting each time I put them on. 

I am an 8.5, 9 in running shoes. I got a 9. The 8 were 1/4" too short in the heel and the arch was in an odd spot. The Peach pattern has stayed clean for many uses.

Almost Perfect

Bought these for my daughter. As beautiful as expected! Sturdy bottom for our water play and camping adventures. 
Only issue is she has to tighten/adjust the straps with each use. I noticed this with another pair I bought for myself a couple years ago as well. The chacos I had many years ago didn't constantly loosen like these newer ones. 
Otherwise, she loves these!

Almost perfect!

I bought 3 pair in 2025. They are equally comfortable.
However, three noticeable and concerning differences. (1) Toebed design is flatter. 2008 pairs toebed curves up more. I tightened strap as much as I can, still find myself catching the front of the toebed and nearly tripping! (2) The sole of 2008 pairs look like tractor tires; the sole of 2025 pairs not even close; thinner, even shiny as if they could be slippery. (3) Strap fabric thinner.

17 Years Later, Quality Not the Same

I have a lot of extra strap on the side and it flops around.  And the material used is a little ruff on my skin.

These are so uncomfortable, something about the shape just does not line up with the bottom of my foot.
 I had to cut all these tiny sharp bits off, leftovers from the mold I guess. No quality control but they're still expensive. I've never had these problems with any sandal or shoe so I don't think it's a “me” thing and won't buy Chacos again.
