A friend who does home repairs had suggested looking at Chamberlain, based on the number of calls he has gotten too fix other manufacturers units.  After installing it I see why he recommended it!  It was extremely simple to install.  Quite honestly, I did not do more than review the instructions - I used the video on the website and it walked me through every step.  It took about two hours, but I took it very slow and continuously paused and played back the online video.  Everything worked first time, and it is crazy quiet!  We got the unit with "MyQ", so now we can open and close the door through our phones and see if the door is closed.  I also get alerts whenever the door is opened.  Gread product!!!

Great product, quiet, and easy to install

This is simply the best garage door opener I have ever purchased. I put this particular garage door opener in our vacation home at a ski resort for a couple of reasons. First, the power company has been turning off the power at times because of fire risk; now my garage door will still open thanks to the backup battery. Second, I can open this with my smart phone from anywhere in the world. If I have someone that I don't know well that needs to get in my garage I can just open the garage from my phone. Last, the camera is extra protection for my renters that bring expensive ski gear in the winter and nice mountain bikes in the summer. It's better than great it's fantastic!

Excited about this garage door opener

After 21 years, my old Chamberlain's circuit board gave up the ghost and I replaced it with 
a B6765.
Lots of changes in Chamberlain's design, but lots has stayed the same (sort of).

1. Rail is no longer a "T" bar that you put together with nuts and bolts...it's a square bar that pushes together without tools.   Well, you need a rubber mallet to push the 5 sections together.

2. DC motor instead of AC because of battery power.  Slower and sounds funny to me, but does the job so far.

3. Motor housing still fits, but uses last attachment hole instead of middle hole.

4. New parts are thinner stamped metal...such as wall header and garage door bracket. (However, the instructions stated you could use old brackets and pins if they were Chamberlain, LiftMaster or Craftsman; so I did.

The old parts were much heavier gauge but larger...I was concerned about the track "wandering" in that extra space, but not with my motor mounting improvements...track stays locked in the center of the pins.

5. Have to use new remotes, outside remote and wall switch due to changes in radio security format.  But everything connected right the first time.

6. Adjustments on motor are no longer done with screws, but buttons.  Start process, let go of "up" button when door is high enough, push "down" button and hold until proper connection with ground and you are "in like Flynn."  Got it right on the first try.

7. I am very happy with my mounting improvements over what is the necessary minimal.  There is absolutely no sway or movement of any kind of the motor housing.  "Sweet" as the kids on South Park say.

8. No grease on the new square bar rail and trolley system, nylon follower that rubs along the top and bottom of the square bar.  They say no lubrication is needed, but I say that nylon is going to wear.

Thinking about a wiping some silicon on the bar, sort of like wiping silicon the the car window gaskets.  Can't use oil products with the nylon, it breaks it down over time.

9. All connections between controls and unit worked first time, also all travel adjustments of door worked on the first try.  No monkeyshines!

10. Using the old original "electric eye" safety sensors, but may change them out when it gets a little warmer (or wait and see if the old models ever break down).


So that is my 10 point review of the current Chamberlain Garage Door Opener available on the market.  Aside from the "no grease" concerns...a very positive installation experience (no cussing required).

This was my 4th garage door opener installation...three houses...second one in this house...practice makes perfect.  
I have no comments on the camera or WI-Fi app since I don't own a smart phone...I may get one some day so now I already have the camera when needed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I installed this garage door opener a few days ago. The instructions were easy to follow step by step and it took me just over 2 hours. I was taking my time step by step since I have not installed many door openers, so some may install faster. This unit has the wifi built in. The MyQ is easy to connect without having to purchase additional adapters for your router. The new Secure View camera is a great addition. Setting it up was a breeze on the MyQ app, which walks you through it step by step. It gives me peace of mind when I am away from home that at any time I can see on the app the door is closed and go a step further and view a live stream of the inside of my garage. The LED lights are incredibly bright and light up the garage very well. I also like that this model comes with a backup battery. I wanted this feature because last year I couldn't open my door because my power went out and at the time that was the single point of entrance I had to my house. Another nice upgrade on this model vs my last opener is the wall control panel. I love that it displays the time and temperature. The menus on it are also very easy to navigate. I would recommend this product to anyone.

Best Garage Door Opener

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had an old garage door opener and this was an upgrade with full features more than I could imagine. The thing that gives me the most piece of mind now is having a battery backup! There were times when I have forgotten my house keys before and I resort to using my garage door opener with keypad to get inside my home.  Thankfully I was never locked outside during a power outage but now I never have to worry or have this fear anymore.  The lights on the B6765 is also very bright which I love and it is enough for me to search for tools in my garage when I have to.  The last favorite feature I adore is having HomeKit integrated with myQ because with iOS 13 my car's screen now displays the garage door on CarPlay's multiview screen along with my music and navigation.

More than I can ask for!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had this installed 3 weeks ago and let me just say it is awesome!  I'll detail what I can below.
Install- Had a professional install so not real versed on that process.

Set up- Once opener was up and running it was a breeze to set up with in home Wifi etc.  The new wall plate has the time and temp on it as well as user friendly settings that allow you to navigate without getting confused. 

Options- This thing has options! It has a motion sensor as do many of the other openers  which is great when you walk into the garage and forget to turn on the light or don't have a light option available.  

The LED on this does in fact cover the majority of the garage and puts out plenty of light.  You can adjust how long you would like the light to stay and turn off automatically so there is no forgetting to turn it off.  

The remotes are compact and simple and can be programmed to add a gate if desired.  

Exterior key pad- This is a must in my opinion! It is weatherproof and easy to sync up.  It is a great option for kiddos coming home from school, neighbors or family members needing access to your garage or house.   

Camera- The camera is pretty cool.  I wasn't sure how I would use it but it has come in very handy at catching my new puppy trying to chew on things in the garage.  I am also able to watch the kiddos in the driveway playing basketball or arguing with each other so that I can address it promptly :) The volume on the camera is good and allows you to hear pretty well.  It has a night vision capability and works well.  There is not PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) with this camera but you can turn it manually 360 degrees.

Workmanship-  The actual backbone (unk actual term) came in several sections and I was unsure if that would be rock solid over time but it seems to be holding up very well.  The belt drive is super quite and you cant hear it activate inside the house and barely hear it outside.  Additionally, the back up battery will allow the door to open for a while (25) times maybe before you have to put it in manual mode. 

App- The MyQ app works very well.  It is easy to navigate through and the notifications options are very helpful.  I think its also a must to have so you aware if there is an activation you didn't initiate or you forgot to close the gate or garage.  Takes 3 seconds to confirm.  If you're on the fence about this product I would suggest you go all in and make the purchase you wont be disappointed whatsoever.

Latest and greatest

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a great upgrade from an older garage door opener. Now where to begin, the easy installation, super bright LED lighting, 1 1/4 HP motor that is powerful and amazingly quiet, backup battery, security camera, or simple WiFi connection setup. All of these great features in this single opener. It's been in use for a couple of weeks now and we have had no issues, never losing connection. Having the ability to open/close the garage door from a phone has been more useful than expected. Very happy with this new opener and all of the features.

Awesome features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Due to builder it has not been installed yet, however I unpackaged it for inspection and looks very study and well made. I will update this review when the builder finally gets it installed. I can't wait as I have a Chamberlain garage door open in my present house and love how quiet it is.

No Installed Yet

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This model is essentially the Chamberlain B1381 with a camera on the bottom. I know this, because that's the model this one replaced. As such, I would suggest reviewing performance reviews on the B1381 since its been out longer and is functionally the same. The camera is a neat addition though. A couple of points I noticed on the camera: it must be manually positioned, cloud recording is offered via a monthly fee (1st week is free) and both regular and low light picture performance are good. 

We live in a cul de sac with the garage (and now camera) pointed right out into the street which is incredibly handy. Your use case may differ. If I had to give a con it would be the lack of integration into Alexa or Google Home.

Smart opener gets smarter

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Installation was simple and straightforward.  Programming was smooth with the exception of my wifi signal strength.  After relocating internet equipment there have been no more issues.  The best part of this unit is that it is quiet.  My old unit could be heard through out the house.  But, now laying in bed at night, which is just above the garage, you can barely hear the opener operating.  Definitely will reccomend to others.
