The product locked up right off the bat. i was disappointed. Went through the troubling shoo0ting section. No go, more disappointment. Contacted support and Tasha set everything right, While the original purchase fell short, they follow through restored my faith in the purchase.

Replaced an older Weather Station from a different manufacturer. This one added Lightning alerts, and I am amazed at the amount of nearby strikes. Could not be happier, easy setup, would like smartphone interface and this model does not have that function.

Ordered this for my husband who likes to keep up-to-the-minute with what's going on with the weather.  We had an older model that finally gave out after a number of years and when he saw this one with the lightening detector, he just had to have it.  So far, it's working great.  We had a storm a couple of nights ago and lightening was detected several times 5 to 11 miles away from the house.  Needless to say, hubby was thrilled.  Good product!

Great Product!

I have been using this station for several weeks now, and I am impressed with the quality and accuracy. I am equally impressed with the lighting detector. Homes with swimming pools would benefit from this detector, for you can monitor lighting strikes as far as 25 miles away giving more than enough time to get out of the pool. I had an issue with the paring of station and the indoor panel, but after several attempts I was able to make this happen.

Great weather station!

There is, due to all the features in this weather station, a rather steep learning curve if you want to take advantage of them all. The basic stuff works right out of the box. Other feature takes a little setup. For example, setting the right wind direction requires a specific type of location that is level with the unit facing True North. For that one needs a compass app or the magnetic version and away from any object that would distort the wind's direction. I also found the several setup buttons to be very touch sensitive. Things can get a little crazy simply by touching parts of the face before you have studied where each is and what each does.  All in all it's a good unit and a good value. One issue, not the unit's problem. I kept picking up a sensor that I could not identify. It was interfering with my indoor readout. Changing the ID code from A to C fixed that.

Be Patient and Really Study the Unit First

A really nice system.  I replaced an older version that was around 12 years old, but birds, squirrels, hail, and time had finally worn the outdoor unit out.  After I installed the new outdoor unit I found that the old indoor monitor connected so I ended up with 2 monitors which was really nice.  The calibration is fairly tedious but not too bad.  I hope to get another 12 years out of this one as well.

I found it relatively easy to install the unit and set up the monitor, however I do not understand how the rain gauge part of it works. Does it empty or void the water itself every 24 hours? If so, at what time of day does it do this?

I bought it in December to get the weather data for 2018 from the first day to last day of the year. I waited until 11:00 PM on December 2017 to start the station. It worked for two days then stopped reporting temperature, wind speed and wind direction. I called them and asked what I should do and was told to do a "reboot", which is removing all batteries and power to the device, then restart. I, of course, lost all my previous data. I did the "reboot" and it worked for another two days, then stopped reporting the temperature, wind speed and direction again. It is now "in for repairs". We had days in early January that was, according to the local news, 12 degrees below zero. I've lost that data - I'm not pleased.

This is our 3rd in 10 years.  I picked this one because it was an upgrade from out last AcuRite.  The screen was stationary and it had the lightning detection.  We installed it properly but the temperature is off, the rain gauge is really off and the lightning detector goes off all the time.  If I turn my porch light on or off, it reads it as a lightning strike.  On one sunny day we had over 375 lightning strikes.  I finally took the batteries out and it sits on the corner table as a joke.  I wish I could return it.

Disappointed

The amount of time the screen stays in a "readable" mode cannot be set by the consumer, at least it is not explained as part of the set up process. The time it stays bright enough to read the screen is too short to read anything. I purchased this model because I previously had the same manufacturer just an earlier version which was fine for about 5 years. Even when the screen is lit to read it, the colors are so light it is hard to distiguish the individual sections.
