Great portable grill. Ignition works. Called Char Broil after reading reviews about wire too short - they explained to attach ground wire to handle screw and not to the wind shield screw as I assumed by the diagram - it fits and works. They were very helpful.

It worked great and was fairly easy to put together. But the instructions for the assembly of the ignition was not very clear. I did however figure it out. :D  
Loved the way the legs folded up to the top and kept the cover on which it did not show on the box, so that I could use it for camping when we take vacations for going to church conferences so that I do not have to get smoky when starting a campfire I can just use this Char Broil 48. Which was why I bought it to begin with.

Negative wire not short!!!   Ya'll should read instructions before posting.  I almost didn't buy the grill because of all the negative comments about the negative wire being too short.  Well you're not supposed to attach it to that specific screw.  You're supposed to attach it to the screw that connects the handle to the body of the grill.  It seems alot sturdier than the Expert Grill version and it's now cheaper by a few bucks.  Hope this helps you make a decision.

Perfect portable BBQ grill for my boat...

Bought a new one for the simple reason I wore the old one out. Have had this piece for years and wore the burner holes out. Placing a baking tray under the unit relly helps keep everything clean.

Char-Broil, LLC

Easy to assemble, enough grilling space for ribs, easy to clean. Fast and efficient grilling. Very happy with purchase. Must be used on a table edge or lifted with rocks etc to allow space for gas cylinder.

Great portable grill

Looks well made for such an inexpensive grill but there was one problem during assembly. The igniter ground wire is way too short. I'll have to splice and extended it to make it work. The photo shows with the screw attached the wire isn't long enough to go through the open end of the handle and reach the igniter button. The positive wire was long enough for the connection.

Looks well made except...

Didn't have any problem with the ground wire as others have reported. It sits on the outside of the grill. Just put the screw thru it before the  grill bottom.   Watch the orientation of the legs. I put them on backwards. Do it like the picture and you won't make my mistake.  Otherwise easy to assemble. Worked 1st try to light.  I don't like that I must remove the tank and regulator to store.  Seems like it's woth the price for occasional use for one or two people. Happy grilling.

No problem with ground wire.

It's sometimes difficult to light and the leg that swings up over the regulator has to be pulled out in order to clear the regulator and rest on the lid top.

Grill

Instructions are not 100% complete. Doesn't explain where to put ground wire. We attached it on the screw we put the handle on with.  Doesnt get as hot as we would like. But it gets the job done.

Great for camping.

Great grill but assembly instructions are confusing.

The grill is unusable because the electrode wire is too short to connect to the electrode--it doesn't reach. Further, the instructions for connecting the electrode wire and ground wire are nonexistent, so even with the correct electrode wire, I don't know how to finish assembling the product. The instructions just say "attach..wire" and "assemble...wire". Attach how?? Assemble how?? I'm no electrician, I need details here.
