Kingsford charcoal briquettes is one of the premium brands for charcoal briquettes but… I paid almost 8 dollars for an 8 pound bag of charcoal, which is extremely high for what you get. I understand price increases, but this is ridiculous. A dollar a pound for charcoal bricketts!

Kingsford Original Charcoal Briquettes are my favorite.  I would have given it 5 stars straight through, but I think the price could be a little better even though it was the best priced.  I am more price conscious these days considering I am just going to burn the product LOL.  I have been using propane for the last 20 plus years and just decided to use charcoal again at least once in a while. So, Kingsford has been around forever as I used to buy them in the past....for a lot less.  But that's cost-of-living folks.  Have a great barbecue these really burn great.

Kingsford Original Charcoal Briquettes

The ignition seemed to be very good. When you light it you get a good fire for quite a while. My steaks, chicken, shrimp, and other food all cooked and I didn't need to change it add briquettes. My birthday food turned out splendid.

I was not thrilled. Brand has a reputation, and one of the major brands and availability. But, Coals need to be replaced each time, they do not burn a "second time." Did work the first time, but I had to light it a few times before it delivered enough heat to reach the desired temperature. Nonetheless, good value for the price. Just be patient. It is an "old-school" product, in comparison to other options.

Kingsford  charcoal always lights well,  never goes out, and gives a good flavor to the food on my BBQ.   My b.f. says he loves the BBQ taste and he gets hot too.  I've experimented with all the brands, and Kingsford is the only brand I buy.

This was my first time purchasing and operating my own grill.  Kingsford has made its own reputation, which is why I opted for this charcoal and it made it super easy for me and I had a great time enjoying enjoying the full Fourth of July, burger grilling experience.

Easy To Use

The product works as always. But...
In the last few years, the company handled higher costs by adding grooves to the briquettes and changing the formula. They're much less dense.  Cooking time has been greatly reduced.  
The higher end charcoal brands are a better value.

Not what they used to be.

Have any of the experts in your packaging, design, marketing or sales departments attempted to successfully open a bag of your briquets, using the instructions on the bag  "Open From End On Front"? I have tried many times over several years and this method failed, CONSISTENTLY!!!
