This long-awaited for Charley Chase at Hal Roach DVD is really wonderful.  Considering the age of these shorts, the picture is nice and clear.  The sound is fine.  I am not a hi-def picky viewer and love the old classics.  Any defects in the original media does not bother me.  I really did not notice any.  I first purchased this on Amazon, and Disc 2 was defective.  It would not play the last three shorts, and I could not turn off the closed captioning.  I complained to the producer.  Kit Parker Films, the studio that produced the DVD, told me to complain to Amazon for a refund and would not offer a replacement.  It was beyond the return window at Amazon.  Bummer.  I turned to Walmart to obtain another copy.  The replacement played fine.  I guess I'm just a Charley Chase fan and had to have it.
