My last stainless steel kettle, a Walmart brand, lasted 16 years before it won't turn on.  Pretty sure the heating element burnt out.  See the photo of the old and new both 1.2 L so the Chefman is a bit bigger.

So I bought a Hamilton Beech glass kettle but felt glass anxiety as it will crack eventually so returned it and got this stainless steal kettle instead.  Not sure why it's discontinued but the design is beautiful.  Stainless steel wraps the entire pot with the lighted water level indicator tucked in the handle.  The on off switch at the bottom does not light.  The Chefman name is embossed so it won't rub off.  The lid is stainless steel with 3 plastic clips so there's no hinge to break and a hand can reach inside to clean.  The chamber inside has 2 rubber grommets that hold the water level indicator in place.  See photos.

The kettle boils fast so 600 ml in a minute so I just wait and pour.  The problem with auto shutoff is it doesn't shut off until it's boiling and I stop it before it boils as it's too hot and a waste of electricity.  Used it a dozen times and don't notice any stains or discoloration in the inner plate yet.

It comes with 1 year warranty but my last Walmart branded kettle lasted 16 years so this should be durable.  There is no lid hinge to break, no glass to crack, no fancy 360 blue lights to burn out so less components to fail.  This is a clearance item as Chefman stopped making stainless steel kettles since people prefer glass for its see thru elegance and 360 lights but for durability stainless steel is unmatched.

This product looks great but the  problemnis the screws inside that hold the handle. It gets rusty when after each use. I wiped the first time but does happen always
 Its not safe so Ill have to return it, as it might cause health issues.

Chefman stainless steel electric kettle

This new Kettle is very noisy when turned on. The body is bulky and awkward plus the handle seems quite flimsy. Not my best purchase.
