The Chefman Electric Glass Kettle is very much more amazing than i thought it would be. Very simple and quick. Pour the water in the kettle, place the kettle on the power pad, you'll see a blue light when you turn it on. Watch it boil for very short time until blue light shuts off. Enjoy hot cocoa, coffee, tea an so on. Quick and Easy! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

walmart.com

took to a hotel to make coffee in my french press, also made home made hot cocoanwith it!. super fast boil, especially if you start with hot water, 3 minutes if you start with cold water.

hot and ready

I bought this to replace one I had where the burner plate didn't heat uniformly so it couldn't be cleaned of all the calcium build-up.

I love this replacement! It's 1.8 ltr, like my old one, but unlike that one, the top in the new one can be completely removed. Huge improvement for filling and pouring! It heats up fast and the heating element is uniform all round.

Great product, including the price!

Holds a good amount of water and heats quickly then automatically shuts off. Nice that it is glass, not plastic. Blue light while it's heating, no guessing if it's working. Works without the tea infuser, it can be removed from the lid. I've only used it a few times, so don't know how it holds up yet. But a good price for a glass product.

Efficient

This is my 3rd kettle. I haven't problems so far. Calcium build up is my only problem %26 advice on how to clean it doesn't necessarily work. I have also changed/upgraded pots to better fit with my decor. I also buy the insurance because one pot was leaking from the bottom.

Stop Bothering Me with these reviews

This is the family kettle that we use when we have a bunch of different drinks to make, like movie night when we make cappuccino for the adults and hot chocolate for the kids. Others in the household use it for heating water for ramen, etc. Good multi-purpose kettle.

It's a little slow, but the kettle is huge, so the trade off isn't a bother. It's sturdy and easy to use. I do not use the infuser since some of my teas, like the Puerh, tend to have a lingering smell and taste, but it's easy to pop in and out. I infuse in-cup using strainers and loose leaf.

I have no major complaints about this kettle. It does its job without a ridiculously long wait.

Great kettle

Amazing product! Two convenient sizes. I bought the 1.8 Lt. size. For a single person the smaller size is probably a perfect fit. I bought the kettle for boiling water for coffee to use with a French coffee press. It requires less time to heat water for two cups (1 Lt) with the kettle than with a microwave oven!
Very satisfied with the quality, technology and the value that this product provides.

Great, Economical and Efficient

Plastic on the spout and interior lid... That was not mentioned, and therefore the title was misleading

Misleading title. Plastic spout and interior lid

I love this brand, and I have one of their kettles from five years ago very sturdy...

But this latest model has a flaw: the clear plastic on/off switch is extremely brittle. Use with caution. Or you will end up replacing it in a year.

Will not last.

They don't make them like these used to

I used this for making coffee. It boiled the water extremely fast but it always left a plastic after taste to the water.

I used distilled water from the bottle. No taste before boiling. After boiling it had a plastic taste / scent to it. I washed the kettle with water and soap multiples times but it never went away.

I think it was coming from the fake metalic cylinder that attaches to the lid. I I took it out and the scent mostly* disappeared but was still there. I stopped using it and returned it.

The appearance was great. It was super easy to use and it boiled water really fast. I'm not happy about having to return it as I need to find a replacement. I would've been the perfect hot water kettle if the plastic taste wasn't there.

It left a plastic after taste to the water
