This is a great travel size or to keep in the home and it's magnetic so the pieces aren't falling all over. And the explanations help you learn how to play. It was a great purchase for a great price.

Beginners Chess

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was just what I wanted for my boys to learn to play chess.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While I do find the instructions helpful. I wish they were more detailed. I bought this for myself and my neighbor, as we are trying to learn the game.
It does explain the rules of each piece as far as movement and the diagrams on the game board does help. However, it does not explain how to win the game exactly. We thought you had to physically capture the King. But looking at YouTube videos shows something different. I have many questions. However, overall, am very pleased with this product.

For the price point, it is good.

My son is 7 and wanted a chess set for Christmas, and was very excited for this set.
The board and pieces are nothing to brag about, great for starters. I wouldn't recommend this to older children or anyone who's been playing for a while. Like  said, the pieces are tiny.
