I love the cute colors! Great price with a nice interface. Perfect for turning any tv essentially into a smart tv. I mainly bought this for chrome casting, which is great for screen mirroring both android and apple devices. I love using it for games like jackbox party packs (and you can access all the packs for $5/month on amazon luna!) which is a great game for family/friends, and chromecast makes it so convenient to play the game almost anywhere. 

Casting works flawlessly on normal home wifi networks, but be warned that chrome casting (plus airplay and screen mirroring) doesn't work on wifi networks that use AP isolation, such as some apartment or campus wifi's. (you can still use the rest of the Google TV features though). You can bypass this by connecting your own router to the ethernet and connecting all of your devices to that router's wifi. Though many places don't allow this and will block the router if found so you should try to hide it by spoofing the mac address to something common like an xbox (and register it with the correct vendor OUI, such as 50:1A:C5:xx:xx:xx for an xbox one) and changing the SSID to something like “Direct-91-HP OfficeJet Pro 8710”.

Pro-tip: watch basically anything for free by casting from a laptop. Get a google chrome browser extension like uBlock Orgin to block ads, and stream almost any show/movie from a pirating website (look on reddit r/piracy to find good pirating websites that currently work).

Android Tv is the way to go, and this little gadget has all you need for all entertainment purposes. You can also add USB-C power hub to expand storage and use accessories such as keyboard. Love the small footprint, barely takes up space. Google did it right this time by adding the Google Tv feature.

A must buy!

I upgraded from an older Apple TV to this. My partner was skeptical of the swap in TV OS, but the ease, affordability, and better catered recommendations made a convert of them!  Our whole house is set up with Google Home smart devices, and the TV was the one last thing outside of the ecosystem. Not that this impacts the performance or experience digitally, but getting the lighter color was a godsend as well. It's so much easier to find the remote! Usually remotes are black or dark colors, and for the first time in my life I can now easily find it no matter what! I can't rec this device enough!

Amazing, and I'll never lose a remote again

This is our second 4K Chromecast. We love it. The setup was smooth and easy. Sync perfectly with our old one. Super easy to use. And we've never had any lag issues like we had with other products when pressing the buttons too quickly. Will buy again if needed.

I have a 10 year old Vizio LED TV with smart features that no longer work, nor does the remote.  Once set up was complete with this new Chromecast, all was right.  The remote programmed to the TV to be able to power on and off including volume control.  Simple interface to work with, easy on the eyes with smooth transitions.  Quality is as expected for a 1080P LED from 2010, It gets it done and checks all the boxes for me.  I'll have to try one of these for my 4K when I'm tired of the smart features.  Highly recommend for old flat screen HD TV you don't want to part with and if you're wanting a better interface than what your Smart TV provides.  So far no issues to state.  All Apps are here, Amazon, Hulu, Netflix, and so on.  Enjoy

Worth the Upgrade, Love the Remote

Extremely easy to setup and even easier to use. It is even better than the previous versions of Chromecast because it now has its own user interface where you can select apps. The voice feature also easy to use and the remote is small %26 compact but has everything you need. I'm hoping to eventually have one of these in every room with a TV.

I decided to purchase this because of the discounted price.  I was using the Onn 4K.  I can honestly state that, I prefer the Onn device, primarily because of the ease of use; a dedicated menu button, that's missing on the Google; ability to change the picture format (HDR/SDR/Auto), that's also missing from the Google device, and more custom settings for apps.  Also, the Google device will list SDR as the only format available for my device, even with all of my home theater equipment capable of supporting HDR, not so with the Onn 4K.  In summary, not good enough to make the switch.

Outmatched

google products look good on paper but they buggy and unreliable. this usually just does not start when turn on tv, have to unplug and replug to start it. happens 50% of the time. i bought 3 of these and all do the same thing. my roku never let me down and lasted years without any weird issues like this garbage. do not buy this unless you like unplugging and plug again constantly for it to work. oh and forget about google ever fixing the issue, just look at google playstore and google wearos, same issues for years without them fixing it.

not reliable

Awful product and terrible customer service. Casting works but Google TV absolutely doesn't. Tried going through Google's so called customer service; they were ignorant, rude, and deceitful. Buy a Firestick or even just a generic casting device, this is rubbish.

Awful piece of rubbish

I'm glad I can return this device!!! It's very slow. It has an unfriendly User Interface (U.I.). Most of the U.I. is using low-resolution graphics which look horrible on a 4K screen. Setup took way too long. The downloading graph was moving upwards by around 1 percent every 10 or 20 seconds; it reminded me of 1990s dial-up internet!!!
This thing doesn't even run basic Google Actions that my Google Smartspeakers can run. For me, it's a completely useless and pointless device. It's probably even too small and light to be a good paperweight!
Roku or even Amazon FireStick 4K are both much faster and more useful - with Roku being the best and most versatile in my opinion. 

Shame on you, Google. You can do better.
