I loved this game as a kid, and I'm so glad it was remade for the NDS. It's nice to be able to take one of my favorite games with me everywhere I go.

Great job

I've been playing this game since it first came out on the super nintendo. I really like it for the DS. They changed the names of all the different places and chapters in the game. I'm not so sure about the tournament with the monsters in the end of time, but I guess I'll decide if I like it later because I've only had it a day. If you like RPG's I definately recomend this game because most people I know think it's still the best rpg ever made.

My favorite game

I haven't beaten the game yet so I don't know what else has been done to the game other than the stylus. Myself I don't use the stylus because I'm used to the SNES and PS1 versions. The sound is great, the graphics are great, the entire thing is great. I figured it would not look very good on the ds but its still the great game it was before.

Still as good as ever

I searched our area stores for this Nintendo DS game for my son for Christmas, only to learn that it was sold out everywhere. This was 1 week before Christmas and I just figured that I would have to find it after the holidays. But a local Walmart associate told me to check online because he was pretty sure that it was still available. And, it was...and they got it to me before Christmas! I will definetly shop Walmart online again!

exactly what my son wanted!

Chrono Trigger is by far my most favorite video game of all time across all platforms and gaming systems. Running across this title ported to the Nintendo DS made my day and I quickly raced to the closest Wal-mart store that had them onhand (Unfortunately, it was not my home store at the time)

Chrono Trigger puts a symphony of a story, characters and gameplay into one neat little bundle of entertainment that can continue well after you beat the game (for the first time) Chrono Trigger lends itself countless replay as the chance to stsrt over again to find new endings by defeating the ending boss before particular events makes going through this classic story over again much more enjoyable.

Although I havent played much with the wireless multicard feature of battling in the monster arena the other tidbits such as the extrademensional vortex and the lost city of the reptites adds new items and more quests to go through. The galeries you unlock during gameplay adds to the nostaliga by letting you read and view gamign information as well as listening to the stunning musical score Square Enix supplied.

I recommend this title for anyone who loves playing RPG style games on this portable system.

A classic reunion

I've been playing Chrono Trigger since it originally came out of the SNES. It is a top RPG for all gamers to play. If you like the Final Fantasy series, you will definitely like this game. It certainly brings back memories for me when I'm playing it over again. Well worth it in replay value to play over again and again so you can experience each of the different endings.

One of the best...

An excellent classic game from the Super Nintendo with a bunch of new features tossed in in. The game has all the extras that came with the Playstation remake a few years ago with some new dungeons and areas in it. Some of he new stuff isn't available until after the mid point of the game and the rest not until the end. The new areas are quite large and add a lot of items that weren't previously available, but they can get a little repetitive with having to walk back and forth so much. If you never played the playstation remake then I would highly recommend getting this title. If you sot the remake way back when, I would still recommend it just not as highly.

Excellent game with some nice new features

This game is, to the point, a direct carbon copy of the SNES original but yielding all the content of the PSX version (cutscenes and extras). But its easy to tell that they updated the graphic palettes and made it a bit more presentable in this generation. Nonetheless, it sticks to its roots as a classic amongst RPG fans. The interface and menu's were updated and given a new and vastly better improved look.

For some good things, there are some bad things I noticed. Money seems abit lacking in this game. I actually had to sell items that I no longer used just to purchase upgradable equipment early on. And it also seems the difficulty curve later in the game has kicked up (which is a welcome change, but something worth noting). Roughly the first few bosses in the game were a bit too easy, making me think they lowered their HP. Oddly enough, these are the only few glaring faults I could find.

Playing through the game also yields extra content, namely backstory for a few characters and characters that had little backstory in the first two versions. Many events which lead up to 'Radiant Dreamers' sequel are also covered as well. Chrono Cross came after Radiant Dreamers for those curious.

All in all, Chrono Trigger is still a gem after so many years. But still, the fans are asking the same question. Where's our Chrono Cross sequel? It seems Square is once again milking the Chrono Trigger cow in order to fund the next Final Fantasy game....

Ok, so the DS is a cool system anyway, right? Well I got excited when I saw that Nintendo was putting the old FF series onto the DS. Just imagine my joy when I discovered that the mother of all RPGs was to be re-released onto the DS. The graphics are as you would expect from a rerelease-retro. And the controls and battle system are as cool as I remember them. A must have for the nostalgic gamer or any fan of the RPG genre. Now if Nintendo would only put Earhbound on the DS.. . . . . .
