Clairol changed their formula to BW2 or something and this item is now unavailable. Bought thew new version and it was rubbish. Been highlighting my hair for 40 years and the new stuff left blotches of dark hair!!! I searched for the old discontinued formula and found it at Walmart so I bought 4 big tubs!!!!  I will buy from here as long as they still have it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It, and Clairol 30 volume developer, takes my medium brown hair to pale yellow in 45 minutes and it's not brassy. My hair is pearl platinum blonde. I don't need a separate toner although I use purple shampoo sometimes. I won't use anything else.

It is in a larger container which equals more product and is a better deal overall. I use it with Clairol pure white 40 creme developer.

I used this with a loreal developer, level 20, and am quite happy with the results. The powder is pretty fine and will get everywhere if you aren't careful. The smell of the whole process is what you expect, and I left the mix on about an hour.  I noticed the places where I put it on last, they lightened best. It seems that if you let the mix sit for some time before application you will get blonder results.  I'm fine not being so blonde as I am going over it in a few days with greens and blues.  I use argon oil in my mix as well and thereafter so the damage to my hair is a minimal as I can make it.

Basic White lightener is what I use for any color service that'll have warm undertones. It's pretty affordable. The sizes range from small packages, small tub, medium tub, and large tub. It can be used for any color service really. I recommend from going from a level 2 to level 9 be done in a healthy manner and not in one sitting. Gradually lighten the hair (give yourself/client time). Use the corresponding developer. Enjoy 💞

The lightener worked fast but the bag of bleach inside the bucket was small and not entirely filled up like I thought it would be. On my hair it did lighten the color but it made it very yellow despite using a volume 30 toner/developer

Effective at home powder lightener!  Effective lift, with minimal need for toner.  This is the real deal - use with caution.  Can be harsh/damaging to hair if not mixed properly or applied to hair at proper volumes for appropriate time period.  Recommended only for seasoned at-home stylists!
