Played this as a child

I remember this game as a child and how my brothers and I had a blast.  I want to share that with my granddaughter and teach her patience and to deal with accomplishment and disappointment. It's a game, it's fun, not the end of the world. There's no crying playing Operation. It's a game.  It's fun when you let it be, enjoy it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Loved this game when I was a kid and I knew my kids would just as much and I was definitely right! Right now, it's their favorite out of all the games they have. FYI my kids are 5 and 8 so that's saying a lot.

Operation board game

Who doesn't love this classic game?! My kids and their cousins love to play this together. Not only are they refining their fine motor skills when they are pretending to operate but also their reading skills when reading the task cards and their math skills when they earn money for each task they complete. Would definitely recommend!

It is the same game I remember playing it as a child.  A true classic.  And my children enjoyed it also. So I just had to get it for my granddaughter. She is 5 1/2 and does have a little difficulty with it.  Heck I played it with her and did struggle a bit.  But fun none the less.

Operation...The Same Game From The PAST

I placed this order quickly for Christmas gifts. I didn't read any description and didn't realize that this is nothing like the original game. This version is made to be extremely simple for younger players. Not much skill is needed. The openings are very large. Just not what we were expecting when we purchased. We didn't realize that this version only comes with the operation board, no cards or money. If you are looking for an easier version this will be great for you! My son was excited at first but then got nervous when the buzzing started. Maybe he's too young for this type of game, he's 4.

Not the game we remember as kids

I ordered this not realizing it was updated and not the same Operation from when I was young. The holes are now huge, and not all of the pieces are in his body. They include things like headphones, game controller, and other stupid things that no longer make this about "operating" by removing body parts. Because the holes are so huge, we were done playing in 2 minutes. Not one single buzz. Also, there are no longer cards that tell you what's paining him and what to remove. You just pick one out, and the next person goes, and the next person goes. Don't bother. I'm going to Ebay to find an old one.
