My husband is a retired painting contractor.  Over 10 years later, this is the only tape we use for most everything.  (The exceptions being scotch tape and packing tape.)

It's the perfect tape to put a label on things!  When you want to repurpose the box/container, it's so easy to remove the tape.

We all know how frustrating it is to pull loose a fresh piece of tape from those clear tapes.  BLUE TAPE is a whole other story...and it's one with a happy beginning AND a happy ending!

We prefer the 2" a.k.a. 1.88" tape because it is easier to write on...and easier to READ the larger letters.  

Years ago, my husband used the regular masking tape.  That was before the blue tape and others came out.  The problem was that it was NOT good in the sun or in moisture and the glue was always a problem.  It peeled off paint and other surfaces yet it managed to leave tape stuck to window glass, etc.  And in the case of sun or rain or heat exposure, it stuck to itself on the edges of the tape.  Don't waste your money.  This BLUE TAPE lasts forever!!

So even for household use, we recommend this tape and never even consider any other.  Don't tell my husband I said something so corny but I think it's just DUCKy!!  =)

Not all tape is created equal!  BLUE is the best!

really great tape for everyday household painting. it's a little hard to take off and remove if you leave it in place for more than a day. and I'm not sure the lines are as clean as they could be but overall it's great tape for what I needed. it's affordable and that's why I pick it so it's a pretty decent quality for the price. I like its thickness and the ease of application. it comes off the rolll nice as well.

The 1.88 in. Duck Clean Release Painter's Tape is my go-to for quick temporary repairs of all kinds, and I always have it on hand. For example, I use it as window weather stripping until a more permanent repair is done. That it can be removed easily and without residue is key (but don't leave it on for months without checking if it's still easily removable). The times I've actually used this tape for painting are far-and-few-in-between the times I've used it for other purposes.

Good masking tape for paint projects and for other purposes. I've also been using it to tape the backside of two rotary cutting mats together and it's been great for that. Very easy to remove and haven't had any residue issues.

I like that this is an extra wide painting tape. I'm just painting one wall in my bathroom so it shouldn't be too much of a hassle. I'm one of those people that want to jump into the painting and get it done, but using the tape makes the job neater and easier. It pulls off with ease and I think it's important to get it off before the paint is completely dry, otherwise, the paint will pull off with it.

I do quite a bit of painting and this brand of quick release masking tape works well for general painting on smooth surfaces. Has plenty of stick and releases nicely. Like the competition a smooth clean surface, proper application and timely removal is needed to for a clean no bleed straight line separation of the newly painted border. I also use to mark out  general area for picture picture hanging and mounting things to walls when holes need to be drilled. I recommend this product and will buy again.

I liked knowing I didn't have to be a professional painter to get a decent paint  job, although a professional would have done a much better job despite the tape.  It wouldn't matter which tape you used when taping off the ceiling.  Its texture doesn't allow the tape to fully seal it from a little under the tape seepage.  This is why a professional would have been better.  They have a steadier hand than I.  Happily the tape peeled away easily.   Delivery was actually same day!  There was plenty of yards of tape for me to go overboard on its application, with a goodly amount remaining should I decide to paint something else!  Thank you, RM.

Good Protection For Crisper Lines

Honestly not a good tape. Only works decent when it's warm enough, don't stick to anything when it's cold. Useless for any exterior work in the winter. Clean release doesn't work all the time either, ripped off plenty of paint with only being adhered for a couple hours. I'd rather use scotch blue or green frog tape
