As part of the Security team for my church, I carry the HX5R on my duty belt. The size and weight make it a comfortable tool, and the focus feature makes it more functional than the lights carried by most of the other team members. I do carry a second HX5R in my cargo pocket because with any critical tool 2 is 1 and 1 is none.

Wasn't very happy with my first one. My second one is a warranty replacement and it works perfectly.  The switch had gone out on the first one and it was only a few months old and I was working intermittently, customer service was more than happy to take care of it and the replacement has worked perfectly sense. Two thumbs up for customer service on a speedy delivery. Highly recommend crazy stupid bright

Hey guys just wanted tp take a few seconds to express my possitive thoughts in reguards to your company and your products. With out a doubt if there is a issue or a problem i have no concerns of ever being stuck holding the bag becausr it will be either fixed or replaced because coast cares.  Once again thank you

Coast actually cares

The brightness of the light is powerful. It’s actually more than what I expected it to be. I’m a volunteer firefighter and it’s great because of the size and the clip that allows you to clip it to the uniform. It’s strong and durable. I’ve dropped and banged it into things and it’s still like new. It’s also waterproof, I’ve gotten it wet several times and there’s no water damage

It’s a great light.

I bought this as a gift for a foster child from an Angel Tree at my church. I buy Coast flashlights based on past experience and customer satisfaction. This new HX5R looks like a winner, even though I didn't open it. I have several of the HX5 and love them so any improvement on it must be a winner. I'll be ordering on for myself.

This is one Awesome flashlight! The features and benefits of this quality build are worth the investment. I have purchased over 35 flashlights over the years, and Coast flashlights and their warranty are second to none. When I worked retail, I recommended Coast every time.

Quality build and a company that backs the product

I contacted Coast regarding a replacement part on my flashlight. They replaced the entire light under warranty with no questions asked, and as a pleaseant surprise, added a knife to the shopping box! I do love the light and that I can recharge it after using it. It is plenty bright for inspection purposes, and withstood a few falls from ladders without issues.

Great Product, Great Customer Service

I love this flashlight.  I carry it in my pack when I’m hiking/backpacking and has come in super handy when my headlamp batteries go out.  It’s incredible bright and lasts a long time before needing to recharge. I just bought a second to add to an energy kit

Perfect for emergency kit

Its a very good flashlight I love it. The charge lasts enough, is not super big or heavy but has plenty off power.  The only thing will keep me from getting a second one and going for a different brand is the clip.  Amazing idea but does not stays in the flashlight.  I have 3 of this flashlight and none has the clip.

Could be amazing but it's ok.

Nice but lost the most important feature from the HX5.  Numerous times I have pulled the HX5R out of my pocket and the light is on.  With the switch on the side and not on the end cap like the HX5 the HX5R is much more prone to negligent discharging the light.  It is also much more difficult to index for quick deployment. 

I do however like all of the lumens variables but most importantly not having to cycle them all every time just to turn it off.  Construction is on par as well as the ability to use a normal AA battery if desired or needed. 

Overall good but less two stars for ND’s and indexing…which could both be fixed with an end cap switch like the HX5.

Good but…

I thought I would like it, but I don't.  The USB charger is wonky, I dont like that you can take one end off and plug it in that way.  To me, that's a waste.  I want to return it but from where I live etc it would be a waste.  Just not a fan of this light compared to the others I bought.
