I couldn't even guess how many different small flashlights I've daily carried in my 30+ year career as a professional mechanic and none of them have even remotely lasted as long as my HP3R. My first one lasted around 8 years before it finally developed a charging issue and the fine folks at Coast replaced it for free. I can't recommend it enough, it is hands down the BEST pocket pen light on the market.

Very high quality light.

I love these flashlights, I always keep it with me.  I like the new features, with the mouth grip, and the added brightness control.  I have also the first generation light, nice upgrade to this one.

This is a great product i use this device everyday at work and I wouldnt choose another light to conquer the task at hand. Its portable yet bright and also has a long battery life.

Excellent pocket flashlight this is a warranty replacement for the pervious HP3R that had the battery discontinued. I used that one for around 4 years at work on a nite shift, now for camping and working on my vehicles. I really like the mouthpiece added could have used it back then, like the updated 3-power setting and usb C charge port. Coast has great product I have two of these and two other their flashlights.

HP3R Grear pocket flashlight

Once again, a hit out of the park. My daughters work early mornings and in Minnesota there is more dark than light most of the year. These flashlights provide the best lighting for their size, and in this world we live in, can provide protection if necessary. You folks rock!

Tiny flashlight but a giant light!

I am very hard on my flash lights. I use them around 4 hrs. a day. With replicable bite pad, is great.

I love the updated version with usb c. I had the older version with micro usc for about 5 years and put that through the wringer. I love this one

Hp3r

Great light. Perfect for EDC or an inspection light. I'm a mechanic so the bite cap is a nice feature. My only complaint is after about a year the light starts to flicker, have to replace the rear section.

Great for mechanics.

I had the older model HP3R (microusb model) and loved it. I had always wished for a bite cap so when I saw these models come with one I decided it was time to upgrade. I realize they sell bite caps separately but shipping was more than the caps so I decided to treat myself.

my pros:
* very bright at the highest setting when compared to the old generation. I can light up a room during the day.
* love the bitecaps. use those pretty much every time I use the light. not only for holding the light but it allows for the light to stand on its end.
* light feels very solid
* I dont really use the replaceable battery feature but I can imagine if you used this light a lot during the work day you could easily swap rechargeble batteries and charge in your car or wherever you are without need of special chargers.

my cons:
* I miss the momentary switch on the old model
* I have another flashlight that has the ability to remember which of its 3 modes I last used so that next time I turn it on it starts cycling from there. I think this flashlight could use that. I mostly use the highest brightness mode and always cycling to get there is a bit of a pain.

So, increased brightness; BUT Coast has shrunk the battery capacity (relative to the prior hp3r), decreased physical access to the power button, and this new hp3r is heavier.  (Seems like people have abused the warranty for personal tendencies to chew on the rubber power button on the tailcap.)

Improved brightness, but all around much inferior.
