When I was a starting diesel mechanic, i saw my buddies with these cool flashlights that fit right in their hands and it would light up the whole truck or any portion they were trying to look at in the darkest of places. I always wanted one, but one that wasn't as expensive as the ones they had. FINALLY I find a flashlight that's far better than theirs. This flashlight is brighter, more durable, RECHARGEABLE, and fits in the palm of my hand. It uses a Type-C charging cable and the cable that it comes with actually has TWO Type-C ports so you can charge the flashlight and an extra battery- or two batteries at once. ("The combinations are endless" - Michael Scott) 
I highly recommend this flashlight. Rechargeable, 2100 lumens in the palm of your hand should be more than enough to encourage you to make this investment.

The right size and brightness

The light output on this flashlight is excellent. It feels good in the hand, and has a good weight to it.  The quality of the fit and finish is as good and better than most. The button to turn the light on feels solid and sure. Turbo mode really shows off the performance. When laying the light down, it wont rool because of the tab where the wrist lanyard is but it never interferes with your grip on the light. Ive had experience with other lights like Olight and Thrunight. This Coast light holds its own and for a much better price and warranty. You wont be disappointed.

My experience with the XP11R

Yeah, this thing is probably the best one they sell. With the tail lit charging indicator to that 2100 lumen high mode, they nailed it with this one. Feels good in my hand and it's plenty solid. My A25R USED to be my favorite but this one has taken its place. I'm pretty harsh when it comes to my reviews because I want to know what I'm getting when I read someone else's review but I can't say one bad thing about this light after 6 weeks of putting it thru it's paces. And it's taken a few knocks in that time. A solid purchase, for anyone on the fence about pulling the trigger.

This is the one.

Excellent pocket flashlight. Sturdy, bright, great size and weight, great materials and it's rechargeable. I like the brightness modes and the focus point. Way brighter than other products. What more could anyone ask for? The string is also very handy for tying to anything (backpack, tent, bike)

Excellent pocket rechargeable flashlight

The XP11R by far my favorite led rechargeable flashlight.  The weight is just right.  The size is great, also if they went skinnier than the battery wouldn't last as long.  I have 3.  I also purchased one for my brother who does security work at the NY Giants facility and he loves it also, especially the turbo mode with the slide focus makes the beam shoots far.  The on/off button lights up green from full charge to time to charge.   All around just a great flashlight.

Complete review of the XP11R

I absolutely love this flashlight! This light has been fantastic so far. Great battery life, a rugged design and intuitive, quick light settings. The battery indicator in the switch is great for knowing just how long you can go and the screw style recharging port keeps out the roughest of dirt and grime. I got some oil on the end while adding some to the plane at night and not a drop of it got in, in fact, it washed right off. This light is built to last and is incredibly tough. The focusing beam is a huge plus as well and came in handy a few times. If youre looking for a light that will last and handle anything you throw at it, look no further. This is the light you want.

Stop looking, you've found it.

This is a great light! It has a high medium low and turbo mode. That turbo mode, in the words of my five year old granddaughter, is like day. For those times when you are searching for your glasses. Feel solid and easy to hold. I have a piece of Velcro that will strap it to my cycling helmet and will be using it soon as the days are getting shorter. Recharging is easy and the option to change over to regular batteries is a good thing too have.

It's like day!

When removing the rechargeable insert of my HP8R, the black plastic piece came out. The HP8R is no longer available; COAST replaced with a XP11R. I like the dual power & XP11R fits the sheath I had. I prefer the barrel, spot-to-flood of HP8R. Barrel of XP11R is knurled. I prefer the higher lumens, twist design & illuminated endcap of XP11R. Time will tell, but currently miss the HP8R.

XP11R Suitable Replacement for HP8R

First the good: It is well made and solid, it feels good in your hand and not like some cheap flashlight. It seems to hold a charge well and unlike many I do like the Med, Hi, Low settings when pushing the on/off button. The wide angle is wide (more on that later) and on low beam is more than enough for a dark night walk. The beam adjustment is very easy and fast to use with one hand. Now the not so good: While it is very bright, the beam does not focus as tight (small) as i would like. Even on the tightest adjustment it is still too wide and waste the brightness. For example when walking down a dirt road and you tighten the beam to see as far as possible, it is still so wide it lights up both sides of the road so you can't focus on what's far away. The adjustment lock doesn't hold the adjustment after it is clicked to Lock and because it is easily adjusted it will more when you don't want it to. the lock stiffens it up and makes it tighter but doesn't lock it in place. On its highest setting it is very bright but because of the wide beam and inability to tighten it, you can't use all the light so it's wasted. Given the items above I have to say I would not recommend this light. If they could fix the lock and make the beam able to be adjusted smaller I would recommend it.

Some good and some not

This light is very bright. Don't get me wrong this light will work for a mechanic or someone who needs close up lighting. My dogs got out the other night and I grabbed this light thinking it would be perfect. I was sadly mistaken. The light seems to only light up an area about 50-75 ft in front of you. It has the adjustable slide but the spot beam is no where near tight enough. I had to go back and get my Streamlight. I am not knocking on this light coast just need to make the bulleyes beam a lot tighter. I could not even use it to search between houses from the truck.
