I couldn't even guess how many different small flashlights I've daily carried in my 30+ year career as a professional mechanic and none of them have even remotely lasted as long as my HP3R. My first one lasted around 8 years before it finally developed a charging issue and the fine folks at Coast replaced it for free. I can't recommend it enough, it is hands down the BEST pocket pen light on the market.

Powerful tool, very bright light in high mode, and in low mode enough to work.  The plastic nozzle is an excellent accessory.  I would only make a couple of corrections ... First the button is too deep, that interferes with the thumb operation, I know it is not classified as a tactical flashlight, but the blinking light could be very useful in some situations.  On the other hand, the graduation of the light beam in my opinion should be the other way around, that is, the more concentrated light beam with the adjuster in the initial position, and if you want to set the diameter of the light beam, rotate to the farthest position. .  These are just a few suggestions.

A lot of lumens on a pen style flashlight

Replaced for non rechargeable light..  generously sent high quality light.  It us wonderful light.  Bright, protective rings for both ends.  Excellent run time. Good run time.  Coast is only company  i,ll deal with in future

Very high quality light.

I love these flashlights, I always keep it with me.  I like the new features, with the mouth grip, and the added brightness control.  I have also the first generation light, nice upgrade to this one.

This is a great product i use this device everyday at work and I wouldnt choose another light to conquer the task at hand. Its portable yet bright and also has a long battery life.

Awesome quality light. Small pen type feel, not heavy, very compact and came in with more lumens than labeled for my surprise. Charges fast and turns heads when turned on. Everyone is surprised for it's brightness to size ratio.

I love this light. I use it daily at work and it lasts quite a while. Super bright for most of the battery life and when it dims, you know it's time to charge. Had a few issues with the charging port but they were quick to handle the situation and even sent me a new one. Their customer service is unrivaled and I will continue to use them. Thank you Coast for a great light. Looking forward to new innovations.

Excellent pocket light.

Great light. Perfect for EDC or an inspection light. I'm a mechanic so the bite cap is a nice feature. My only complaint is after about a year the light starts to flicker, have to replace the rear section.

So, increased brightness; BUT Coast has shrunk the battery capacity (relative to the prior hp3r), decreased physical access to the power button, and this new hp3r is heavier.  (Seems like people have abused the warranty for personal tendencies to chew on the rubber power button on the tailcap.)

Improved brightness, but all around much inferior.
