Wow what a great light !!! Charged it up when i got it and used it every day for about 2 hours. 2 weeks later the light is still going strong. Still super bright and no sign of fading. I am glad that this light comes on medium because high is just too bright for most situations.This light is just the right size and weight and feels good in my hand. The only thing i do not like is the lack of of an outside charging port. But the fact that it so seldom needs charged makes this a small problem.

I have been using coast products for well over a year now, I've got over 8 lights of theirs for various reasons and situations due to being a high pressure vessel builder (vessels don't have lightbulbs inside) I'm also an avid hunter and tracking in the dark is a big part. The XP9R is my favorite pocket light I've ever had. The dang thing is so bright and throws light where ever I need it. For its size, this light is a beast. I would recommend it to anyone for keeping in the house, truck, or at work. I'd like three for each location personally but I haven't got around to getting two more, you will really enjoy this light.

Ive purchased several Coast lights over the years my last one was stolen so i ordered the XP9R and is the best one yet havent had to charge yet i use my lights all the time i am a barn mngr so my light has to be dependable ,this one delivers, very happy with this light !

I purchased 2 XP9Rs 1 for myself and 1 for my son We are both Volunteer firefighters and my 20 plus year old light needed updated My son is a Junior firefighter so he needed his first After reviewing and comparing several lights by various manufacturers this is the light I decided on And WOW what a Perfect Decision Super bright, Very light, Profile is nice and low I now have several of our other members asking for ordering information Wi Definitely be buyong more lights from Coast

Great Choice

I have large meat hooks that appreciate the large grip texture. After years of working as a mechanic and hot cold they don't have the feeling they used to. And compared to my fenix pd35 2nd gen the battery life is more agreeable. I like the battery life indicator as a reference but prefer the separate selector switch on the fenix. Long and short of it feels good functions well and time will tell if it holds up. Had the fenix and it's 18650 batteries for three years daily use and had no issues until the button finally wore through from use. Hope this is a good replacement.

Me likey long time

I was borrowing my brother's older model Coast flashlight to check out the grounds outside our house at night for coyotes and armadillos, but it is long and somewhat heavy. I liked the quality of my brother's flashlight, so decided to go for another Coast model.  The XP9R is easier for me to carry and hold, is very bright for a longer distance, and rechargeable, so it suits my purposes.

It Suits My Purposes

A good, solid flashlight of a convenient size and very bright.  Switching between brightness levels takes some getting used to, and lacks the convenient "charge the battery without removing it from the flashlight" capability of the XP11R.  Also, the charger that comes with the flashlight is a USB to mini-USB type, and does not come with an adapter to plug into standard US electric outlets.

i bought this light and dropped it the led came loose, i was mad cause i really liked this flashlight it worked great, i contacted the warranty department, they told me they would replace. all i had to do was go to the website and  upload a picture , . i did this and within a week i had a new no questioned asked replacement . you have a lifer after this. thanks for the great service

broken flashlight

Not worth the money ! LED melted after a few weeks! Website showed charger plugging in to the light, it did not! Had to remove battery to charge! Coast did send me a new crappie light to replace it but , now they blow up my email with junk!
