My Grandma and mom used Coats %26 Clark and said no substitutions.  They were right.  The red gold worked well to put new hems on my jeans. Looked good, thread didn't tangle in the machine. IYKYK.  HaHa.

i was not sure thread would go in my hand needle but it worked very well.

I would have preferred navy blue since I was using this thread to patch jeans but this was the only color available.  The tread itself worked beautifully on men's work jeans. Since the stitching on jeans does have this gold color the patched areas didn't look too bad.  The thread is very strong and will hold well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] it is a specialty thread but not so special that C%26C only puts 70yds on the spool.  it's basically just heavy duty and not specific to just sewing on jeans

Unfortunately I was trying to use this thread on my sewing machine but because it was thicker than regular thread I couldn't get it to work.
Color was spot on but not the same effect I wanted to hand stitch.
