We love to have flowers on our porch rails and thought this would be a good replacement for our old holders, which after many years of use were rusty. These looked great, but they are made from thin flimsy metal and when we put flowers, potting soil and water in the two foot light plastic boxes they were designed to hold, they fell off the porch rails, flowers and all!  They do not hook around the bottom of the rails for support!  I re-potted the flowers and my husband wired the holders together under the rails.  They are able to hold, but will have to be wired/unwired every time the seasons change.  They are not bad, just not completely engineered for effective use.  I hope they will last for a few seasons, but I miss our older heavier-duty ones that were made from stronger wire and hooked under the rails!

Will not hold flower boxes without help

I bought two for my mother so she could put them on the deck railing  and put flower boxes in them.  They work great, I love them, I'm going to get some more.

Please note that the units you will receive are NOT adjustable lengthwise. The items you will receive are NOT the item in the photos. They are fixed to accommodate a 24 inch planter - that's all. 

Also, the nuts that screw onto the bolts are made from cheap plastic and strip easily.

Also, the item comes with a warning that the item contains 'chemicals known to the state of California to cause birth defects and cancer'. Charming.

And to think I paid good money for a cancer-causing item that isn't even the same as the item in the picture. Ugh.
