We returned to tent camping last year for some of our annual Western states hiking trips. This tent is an upgrade to the cramped, 2-person tent we used last year. Overall, up to this point, this tent has been a great purchase - fair price, extra space for sleeping & gear, easy to setup and, most importantly, the ability to fully stand up to get dressed. In full sunlight, the tent is very warm inside. However, at night, with the entire screened roof covered with the rain fly, the tent design provides very good ventilation making for very comfortable sleeping.

We camped in two different spots for several days at a time. First site had great sunny, dry weather until the 4th day. The rear of the tent was subjected to 30mph wind gusts making the back resemble the sail of a boat. The fly guy lines held but one of the corner fiberglass poles folded over under the pressure of the wind. It quickly snapped back to position but the entire rear and side panels facing the wind were under considerable stress. We improvised additional guy lines to support the three corner poles subjected to the wind to stabilize the entire structure - see pics. After retiring for the evening, the winds died down but were followed by storms with significant rain. The tent remained dry inside! At the second site, the tent was subjected to a gentle, soaking rain one day and, again, remained completely dry inside.

Very satisfied with this tent.

A good tent at a fair price

We bought these tents to replace some of our Girl Scout troops older tents. We use them for troop camping trips with 4 girls and gear per tent. Like the extra head room and the poles attached to the tent itself. We purchased better stakes than the ones provided. We hope to get several years worth of use for our troop.

Girl Scout Camping

Great tent! Just don’t put the silver rain flap on the ground in 80 degree weather while putting up the tent or whatever you put on it (like my favorite shoes) will melt!

Great tent

The tent is a great tent and was recommended to us by another you purchased. However , the support from Coleman for a bent pole was not helpful. this took it from a 5 to a 3 . I ended up buying a coleman pole replacement kit (used the model and make from your AI support site) . Excited to get the pole replacement kit only to find the pole segments were of a different size. I made it work only to find my solution made it impossible to get the pole back in the carrying sack. So... I ended up just buying a new tent. Tent great ... support process 1 ... hence a 3 overall rating. Plus a paid for double (bought two tents). I like Coleman but the experience not great. However ... hope to watch the meteor shower on Aug 12 and 13 in the tent.

Great tent ... poor replacement pole process

I find folding the tent difficult with the attached poles.. I had this same model without the attached poles and it was much easier to fold and raise. The sleeves that the poles slid through made it easier to raise the tent by myself on the older model. I liked those better than the clips.

Well made but I liked the older model.

I have owned many tents over my 35 years of tenting at campgrounds. My current tent is a Coleman Sundome 6 person tent (poles not attached). Great tent. Easy peasy to set up - 2 poles plus fly pole. I recently bought the Coleman Skydome 6 person tent for my grandsons. I mistakenly thought it was the same set up at the Sundome. I am shocked that someone at Coleman thought that attaching the poles would be a better design than having the poles separate. Seems like the chance of something breaking is much greater. Unfortunately its too late to return to store for a refund but i wish i could.

Not a fan of the poles being attached

Bought this for a weekend camping trip. This was my first trip with this tent and first time taking it out of the bag and setting it up. With very light rain (less than 2 mm). The fly was leaking directly into the middle of the tent and onto my face and sleeping bag. With the leak being right in the centre I was very hard to move away from the leak and stay dry. The following day with light wind ( around 20k gusts). The tent was leaned over so much it was touching my face while lying on a single high air mattress. This I partially because the guy wires are on too steep of an angle. When tied back to trees keeping the lines more horizontal helped a fair bit.
While there was good headspace and upright walls to maximize usable floor space. This tent is only good for camping in great weather.

Question for Coleman. While I am not impressed with this particular model I have had many others that were great. Do you offer a similar sized tent with a 4 pole design for more structure on windy sites?

Leaky and flimsy.

The worst tent we've ever owned.

We had a similar coleman tent for 13 years which we used all the time and really loved. That one started leaking on us after so many years of use so we decided to buy another coleman that was as similar as we could find.

Well, the tent is awful. It collapses onto itself all the time. And trust me, we are putting it up correctly. We have to tie each side of the poles to a tree or Amy bit of mild wind and it collapses.

Don't waste your money! I have picture and video proof too!

The worst
