This is the best camping item you don't wanna forget at home the lanterns are tricky but once you figure it out piece of cake easy to use bright or dim, I suggest getting the little carrying case tho with it to insure the glob doesn't get broken if it falls over during the travel easy to pack store and lift a light weight lantern what more could ya want

These lanterns are an incredible source of long lasting light. Not only just the fuel itself but the product lasts a long time requiring low maintenance and the ease of use is perfect for low effort camping. I swear I remember my dad buying his in the early 2000's and he still uses his as well.

Long term investment

I will update my review with photos once I pull my lantern out to go camping. I have used Coleman lanterns my entire life. The one I currently have has lasted over 10 years and still works the same as the day I bought it. The mantles need replaced about once a year. I highly recommend Coleman lanterns and other camping gear.

Coleman is the only way to go

Great portable little light. It doesn't take up too much space when packing your sack but it does give off a good bit of light. Being able to use the same propane tank for the grill and light is definitely  a plus

Portable and bright

They are affordable, readily available and easy to use. I highly recommend Coleman mantles for bright, consistent, long lasting light. Keep a pack or two in the lantern case for emergencies.

Straight forward and dependable

This lantern is easy to use and exchange for more fuel. The lantern can be broken down and stored or packed separately from tank, which helps with space. The light is well maintained and bright without having to worry about wind and water.

Great tool for all camping trips

We've had ours for 10+ years and works well, very reliable. Gives us extra light when we are boon docking and need to cook a meal or just be seen for safety reasons.

Hooks to propane extension pole & use like a lamp

It's easy to light and put together. It has step by step instructions which I love. It's small so you can pack it anywhere. I don't have to worry about it tipping over and that eases my mind.

Bright light

Great little lantern, easy to use, easy to take care of, very light noise. My only negative is we only used it a couple of times when we had the handle break on it. So not as sturdy as I'd expect.

Great! But not as sturdy as expected!

This lantern is great for camping at night. It can light up a big camp area. The light will burn for hours. It is easy to light and has the ability to change the brightness of the light.

Effective Camp Light

I have about 25 years of experience with Coleman products including lanterns.  This lantern is not the same level of quality.  

What works well - The lantern puts out a very good amount of light.  It starts without issue and regulates light level consistently.

What works poorly - Construction.  The lid / cap, glass and attachments were all incredibly loose and rattly from the start.  It's like the whole lantern is going to fall apart. 

Largest fail - The threads for the LP canister are not durable.  Whether it's the type of metal... or maybe plastic is involved somehow.  It quickly became difficult to screw the LP tank to the base.  Not good when you're trying to set up camp late at night in the middle of the woods with nothing but a headlamp.  My lantern is currently useless after a dozen or so uses b/c I can no longer connect to an LP canister even though the threads don't look damaged.  All benefits stated above are useless now.
