Lights first time, every time. Lasts quite awhile. We've had several others over the years, even refillable, this one beats them all.

I chose this lighter because it's from Coleman. I mean, they make the best camping gear, right? Not in this case! Before you buy this lighter, go with a Bic or any other brand. The lighters themselves are all very similar, and I've used many.

But the problem with Coleman's is the trigger. As a child proof system it has a "rocker" style safety that you can barely make out in the photo. It looks like a little notch above the trigger. But it's VERY hard to hold down. It hardly moves and you have to hold it down, and then pull the trigger. Also, if you want a continuous flame, holding the trigger won't do it. You have to depress the stupid safety rocker and hold IT down - which is very hard to do!

But ANY other lighter!

Hard to hold!!

Bought two Coleman lighters with the on and off switch and I Received two with no on and off switch but with the basic child resistant trigger that often requires two hands to operate.

The part number on the box of the ones they shipped was the same number as on the Internet but not the same lighters. I had bought two of these as I assumed that with an on and off switch they will be easy to use. I brought them back and not sure why the write up on the site is wrong.
