good quality cane and pegs and the book helped this first timer!
I would ask that they add more pegs as 4 is just not enough. I would gladly paid more for this kit with additional pegs.
This kit has JUST enough cane to do my chair seat. Be careful of your waste!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first time working with cane, so experienced caners may see things differently.  The kit contained a book with great pictures demonstrating one method of caning (a different method than I am learning).  The instructions are well written and understandable.  The awl included is fine.  I needed more pegs, because some of the pieces of cane were easily breakable, creating shorter pieces and requiring additional pegs for the caning process.  This breakage may be due to my beginner status.

Novice Caner Satisfied

Everything I needed for the job was in the package. The cane requires soaking, please donât forget that. Some pieces break. Be very careful when using it and so not to injure yourself. It looks very nice when the job is done. This natural cane can not be beaten.

Book is a disappointment.  It's 1 paper.  Cane is extremely thin.  Hard for a beginner.

The package was damaged in shipping but apparently the order is OK, however it is not what I need and I need to return it

T he enclosed instructions manual was bad, Very BAD.  Over the past 40 years, I have caned at least 14 chairs, and if I tried to follow these instructions, I would be  lost.  When I cane a chair, the first 4 steps are horizontal, vertical, horizontal and vertical,  The last two steps are diagonal.  The enclosed instructions give the third step as diagonal.  I might work,  but it appears to complicate the weaving.  Furthermore,  the written instructions are incomprehensible.  I recommend you trash the  enclosed instructions and obtain other instructions.
