This 2 1/2 quart casserole dish is perfect for chicken casserole or mac %26 cheese for the family. I like the quality and size but it was a little bit pricey compared to a previous one I had bought.

French white 1.5 qt casserole dish.

I broke my 1-quart casserole from Corning years ago and I never found a 1-quart casserole since. So I chose this CorningWare (it's ia 1/1/2 Quart dish) It works just great I am so happy I found it.

Love the Handles on the dish

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Perfect. Bought to replace older, heavier one that had no handles. Liked it so much, bought another the same size and another a size up. Minus one star because the glass lids are thin, especially compared to the ones these replaced. Glad to not have to purchase a whole set of sizes I don't want.

Perfect replacement piece.

This item is pretty & functional. I bought it to replace my 32 year old Corningware baking dish but it is no where near as good as the good old pieces were. This can only be used in microwave or oven, you have to be careful that it's not cold when putting into the oven for fear of breakage. The lid is a bit more fragile than I am comfortable with. However, I don't mean to be completely negative. It is def a pretty piece of cookware, works well in the oven & microwave, I just find that I have to be a lot more careful than I am used to being.

A pretty piece

I have been waiting for Corning to make a casserole with handles, ever since they retired the blue cornflower model that I was raised on. Yay!! I bought the set (1.5 and 2.5 quart) for my daughter, and she was thrilled. While the handles are not big enough for an oven mitt to go through, they appear to give enough stability so you don't get scared to pull it out of the oven. The lids are quite thin in appearance, with no support ring on the circumference, but I trust that Corning wouldn't put out an inferior glass lid that would put the user in increased danger of broken glass. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase. The price was extremely reasonable, compared to the "celebrity chef" models available on the market. Happy Cooking!

Finally, a Casserole with HANDLES!

The glass lid is a cheap thin piece of glass with a plastic handle. It doesn't even look like it goes with the dish.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is difficult to tell in the photo but the lid is VERY thin and has no lip.  Alos, the lid does not fit flush on the dish, allowing steam to escape while cooking.  This is very low quality for a $25 dish.  I would have returned it but I already tore the packaging.

Poor Quality for Corning

The casserole was poorly packaged in an oversize box, with very little crushed newspaper, no bubble wrap and broke upon transport. I've bought many things from Wal-Mart, but this package, along with another received this week, was so badly treated by the shipping department that both the casserole and its cover were broken when they arrived.
